Warning about referee complaining...

The refs made me sick today. The PI call on Lowery was just an exclamation point. Overturning a stop on 4th down with replay?

The block in the back call on Hanks was pretty weak too. The personal foul call on Lester was ridiculous, because he let go but was drug down by his face mask.

Luckily the kids were outside when that happened, because I was screaming all manner of profanity at the screen. It looked like a couple of other officials were trying to convince him that it was uncatchable, but he wouldn't budge.

yup. the dog spent the entire day under the bed. luckily the better half was out with her friend all day.

I was suprised a more seasoned crew didn't officiate the game. You would think with #1 playing #10 the SEC office would have sent the best crew.

I'm really wondering why we always get such crappy officiating against the Piggies? We can't blame it on Kramer anymore. We've had several games just outright taken away from us and came dang close again today.

We got the win, but Bama surely didn't get the majority of the calls today. Arkansas doesn't have a grip with the refs today at all. With the spots, close calls, and questionable pass interference call Bama had today. It was mostly a one-sided called game.

Bama did what good teams do, they overcame a bad day at the office with the refs.

:BigA: ROLL TIDE :BigA:

Yeah, what was that all about. I yelled about that as it happened. If they're allowed to do that, why not review the spot on Williams' catch that cost us that 4th and 1. I watched in disbelief as the ref took the ball, ran to the spot and stepped back about 14 inches. Unbelieveable.
The other call that bothered me was the late hit out of bounds that was nullified by the facemask. If the guy doesn't grab the facemask, our defender is clear of the play on a clean hit instead of rolling over the receiver out of bounds. That was wrong. If the face mask happened, the other call shouldn't have been made.

The facemask/late hit call was bad, but I can understand it. We had the benefit of slow-mo and replay, the refs did not (even if they wanted to).

HOWEVER, every single other BS call was not just a BS call, it was so freaking obvious that I wonder if the SEC is going to issue some kind of sanctions. The spots were just awful. The phantom penalties were just awful. The refusal to acknowledge Saban's call for a TO was just awful.

There is no way Arkansas fans will blame the loss on the refs. They seem to be smarter than that.

The SEC refs no longer work under the merit system to see who gets the big games. I think Kramer's the one who changed that also. It needs to go back to the way it used to be.

I think both sides seen some bad calls and bad non calls. I'll be the first hog fan to step up and say the Lowery call was bad. I don't think any of the calls affected the outcome of the game. I think the out bounds hit and facemask call was their way of saying no call

Yup. He said Vandy deserved the same officials as the like of Alabama, Florida, etc.

There's alot that could be said about today's officiating, but I enjoy posting here, so I'm going to take a pass. But that doesn't mean I'm happy about it...

No kidding but I've seen it way worse, I can recall back when I was a student at Hoover playing teams like Prattville, Vestavia, TC County and yes even at home against Minor yes at home. That only made beating teams on the road that much sweeter!!! Roll Tide and Go Bucs!!! Speaking of which this also brings back 1995, the trapped TD pass to win it for Arky. Blah!!!

You are completely right about the PI call. I would have been mad if it was called against us as well. Most of the posts on our board are blaming Mallett mostly for the loss or the lack of a running game. I have not seen much at all about the refs. Which I would not have expected to.

Heck of a game guy!!
