Re: Multiple sources: Urban Meyer will step down again

I think it is becoming rather apparent that just about any coach is going to struggle at ND. Got my doubts on that one.
That is why I wonder if Brian Kelly will be inconsideration for the UF job.

Wonder what the expiration date is in that snake oil he sold to those recruits that he signed after he came back from last year?

Or Charlie Strong. I work with a Gator fan, and he acknowledges the fact that Strong and Mullen seem to have been the main cause of Urban's success.
I agree. I don't know if Strong would be a candidate, but Mullen sure would...how about Phat Phil?

That would be like asking if Phil Fulmer would ever be the coach at Alabama. What do you think?

Re: Multiple sources: Urban Meyer will step down again

I think Finebaum smells a little too much like Lee Co these days...he along with Jeff Lee at (ITAT?) and the whole barn camp, have been trying to say weeks ago, that Urban was behind the exposure of the Cecil/$cam mess (remember the 3-way phone call rumor that didn't pan out?)...all the while blaming MSU and bashing Coach Mullens wife...I don't think he knows anything, and I'd say IF he does, just come out & say it, write an article and SHOW PROOF as the aubies say, rather than looking like every other barn pinhead blaming everyone else but themselves.:mad2:

***rant off***:biggrin2:
I kinda agree with what you are saying except that I have feeling Fbaum is stirring the pot- by not stirring the pot. I think he knows exactly what's going on and is not wanting the AU fan base to turn the radio off b/c they cant stand to hear more. He is a very sadistic SOB like that. Having said that, and this may make me sound nuts, but if he does know exactly what's going and being in the business he is in why would you not blow the lid of the story? I don't understand that. But yes he smells like Lee Co these days but I attribute that to him just being the whore he is. And what does rant off mean? (When I say Fbaum is stirring by not I mean throughout this whole fiasco- not todays suggestions)

Interesting developments indeed. It seems that he should have followed his instincts to quit the year before and go out on top with any job he wants if he ever wants back in. Instead, he looks more like a one trick pony.

Finebaum keeps insisting the Cam situation had big hand in this......
I've seen some of the same stuff. Barner tweeps are suggesting that he's leaving because he's about to be in deep doo doo over the leaking of $cam's academic records.

Which is nonsense.

Thayer Evans probably used a UF student as his source and it's so deep it'll never come out.

Re: Multiple sources: Urban Meyer will step down again

A co-worker / friend posted on Sunday (5-Dec) that her friends on the MSU staff told her that Meyer was resigning. Kind of blew it off, looked back at her post today, she stated later that Mullen was the "expected" successor. She was right on w/ Croom resignation and told me about the Cam/MSU business back in August.

I was referring to my own post being a bit of a rant, not yours...mainly because of the last sentence of my post...

I don't think it meant anything either, but frankly in my speculating I had not considered the records leak. The only thought that crossed my mind was possibly paying Cam out of high school, but it was only a thought.

I think your rant is justified. No one knows better, than Finebaum, how to work the crowd into a frenzy. He is a pot stirring extraordinaire and since it is AU's year he is fully on that bandwagon leading the charge now. Not sure how Cam fits into all this but leave it to him to find a way to fit that in there somehow. This stuff is starting to sound like some kinda John Grisham novel. Cam Newton, Milton McGregor and a whole hosts of attorney's, Pat Dye, Dan Mullen, Meghan Mullen, Urban Meyer, Trooper, Luper, Bobby Lowder, Mike Slive, Cecil and probably Lee Harvey Oswald. Can I get the movie rights to this please?

Re: Urban Meyer to Step Down - AGAIN?

I say there is no way Foley (Florida AD) goes after someone that has only been a coordinator. That being said, had Mullen and Strong been on his staff last year when he resigned, he'd never came back. Right now, if I were betting, I'd take Mullen against the field
