Marvin Shinn

yea its a real impressive tape, i forget he is as big as he is, i could see him running the hitch route we've given to julio for the last three years.

Both he and Woodson will be stars, IMO. They will both add a few pounds, both have great hands and can go get the ball. Our receiving corp is solid, IMO.

Now we need to find someone to teach him to run better routes since I hear that's what he needs to work on. Also, will DW qualify?

What does he run in the 40?

4.4-4.5 range. He's definitely a downfield threat.

IMHO, he would have been rated even higher if he hadn't committed so early. (He committed almost 2 yeas ago!) He possess almost everything you could look for in a WR coming out of high school. Big & fast. Who knows how he'll turn out, but he's definitely got all the tools to be a top flight WR.

This is probably the kid I may be the most excited about. He has true freshmen contribution potential (i don't like talking about potential because potential are like elbows, everyone has it). He culd be a real playmaker for us.

He seems a little straight lined with his routes. He has that great size you like to see in a WR. He has good hands and ball awareness. He does need some polishing on those routes though. Shinn is a great get. He has the raw talent to work with. All we need now is the proper WR coach to come in and mold him into a Bama great. Roll Tide !

I'm most excited about Xzavier Dixon and Ha Ha. Dixon because he has the athletic ability to beat blocks and wreck a backfield. He had 20 sacks as a senior, WOW.

Then Ha Ha because, well I love the name, and his speed and coverage skills for a safety are phenomenal. Most of the time a safety prospect is merely a fast, head hunter type great in run support. With Ha Ha you get that and the coverage skills of a corner. He's going to set INT records IMO.

I don't disagree with you at all!

I guess I was thinking more in terms of an offensive playmaker in this class. Those guys on D we got will wreck opposing offenses! I don't think defense will be much of an issue for atleast another 2 yrs. With us losing JJ, Shinn can help fill that void with his style of play.

I really don't see Shinn having an immediate impact. He'll have to adjust his game and get prepared for SEC speed and coverages. Will it happen? Yes. Now, how long it takes is purely up to him and his work ethic. He has the tools to be a great WR. I do think he sees the field in 2011 but he'll be going up against Kevin Norwood and others for those starting spots. In 2012 we'll have lost Hanks and Maze. That's when he should be an every down WR. JMO

less like JJ, more like AJ Green....great either way

Agreed. He looks very similar to what Green looked like coming out of high school.

Looks like he is as strong as JJ. What is his verticle jump? I like his versatility.

He's not on the same level from a physical standpoint that Julio was coming out of high school, but he should get bigger and stronger over the course of his career at UA.
