Re: Cyrus Kouandjio Commitment (all CK discussion goes here)
I'm sure the Kouandjio family is looking at this alot less from the rivalry perspective that we are considering. They are hopefully looking at the opportunities for CK over the next 3-4 years.
I was always taught that when making decisions I should do a "pros" and "cons" list. Trying to be objective as I can, here's what I think things might look like from CK's perspective
For Auburn:
Pros: Immediate playing time, probably even starting, play for the defending NC, as So. or Jr. reap the benefits of two good years of recruiting, perhaps contend for SEC or NC in 2-3 years
Cons: play along side 3-4 other new starters, get exposed as a true freshmen, play on a team that struggles next year, potentially be a part of a team that gets NCAA sanctions while I'm there, play on a team that is the hated rival of older brothers team, parents won't be able to watch me play all the time, parents will have to be neutral for the IB.
For Bama:
Pros: red shirt to learn the position better, perhaps play as a true freshman and share time with a Jr., not step on field until I'm ready for SEC competition, immediately contend for an SEC and NC even if I'm not a starter, contend for championships every year, play along side big brother, parents can watch every game
Cons: may have to redshirt if staff deems I'm not ready for SEC play, if Douglas stays for Sr. year may have to sit behind him as redshirt freshman, perhaps not start until redshirt soph. year
There are obviously alot more things that might factor in. Perhaps others might want to add to these. I've tried to be objective as I can by not including anything about coaches or college towns, etc.
Of course, if its about a girl then throw out every bit of this logic!
