Re: Cyrus Kouandjio Commitment (all CK discussion goes here)

Wasn't it thought that Cyrus an Alabama lean last year even BEFORE his brother committed? I seem to remember him being very high on us even then. And thought that had a factor in us getting his brother. So all the moooo trolls who think that he really doesn't want to come to 'Bama, and that he is being forced to do something against his will - if what I remember is true - well, you're crazy.

unless I am remembering wrong.

Several reports were that Cyrus enjoyed Arie's Bama visit more than Arie did.

totally agree. I really think we should shut down our discussion, and they should shut down their contact with media also. This way, they can calm down, take a step back, make a decision
this actually isn't a bad idea.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio Commitment (all CK discussion goes here)

I'll keep checking but like you I hope Cyrus doesn't take this much time to decide whether or not to blow up a blitzing defensive player unless he does sign with Auburn ;)
That's what I was thinking. Never thought indecision was a good trait for an offensive lineman.

I'm still hoping he's smart enough to sign with Bama, if not, then so be it.

Obviously y'all can follow what you want to in recruiting but Twitter and Facebook will probably drive me from being very involved in recruiting, if this sort of thing keeps up. A kid posts a joke about where he is going and it goes viral, A kids friend gets his friends I-phone and posts a joke about the prospect going elsewhere the day before NSD and it goes viral and is even corrected on national TV. A Scout.com analyst tweets a report that CK will decided today between AU and UA and a family member has to come on here and correct his erroneous tweet. Someone hangs a fake post supposedly from Kouandjio on his wall that he has decided to stick with his commitment and sign with Auburn and it sends several Bama boards into a mini-frenzy.

When you are a mod you have to try to keep the BS separated from the pertinet, valid or accurate recruiting info. With erroneous tweets and Facebook posts it just becomes too frustrating or difficult to keep it straight.

Now I see it posted in this thread that anyone that thinks there is such a thing as facebook stalking is too old to appreciate new technology, or even worse saying any talk about FB stalking is a pile of crap. I am throwing in the towel on this thread. Because to me, at this point you can not possibly separate the BS from real info without constant monitoring and effort.

Just like the Kouandjio family member, this is probably my last post in this thread because it has gotten too ugly for even me to moderate. It was first the UA and AU rivalry that was too ugly now that is in recruiting also.

Other Tide Fans mods will have to keep this thread moderated because if it was up to me I would close it down and not allow another Kouandjio post until he signs an LOI.

Have at folks...
The sad reality is that it is not just affecting recriuting, Surfer. The 24/7 news media along with social networking has muddled every facet of life. The outlets that were once credible are now reporting rumors as news, and retracting later if not true to make sure they don't miss the big scoop.

I'm sorry if this has been discussed already, but when today (if we know) will Cyrus make his announcement? Last I heard he is announcing again on Friday/today. Thanks and RTR.

I just hope he makes his decision based on the right reasons for him.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio Commitment (all CK discussion goes here)

That when recruits go on official visists to Auburn, they hang out with the coaches all day and the coaches tell the recruits Alabama is about to go on probation.

At night, (when the recruits generally hang out with players at most schools), the Auburn COACHES go out and party and drink with the recruits and player hosts. Maybe thats one of the reasons why kids like them. They think they are "cool" and their friends.

Found that interesting...
Quote from someone connected at another site. He also says "My guy is still saying Bama." I have no idea how accurate any of it is, so Im not vouching for any of it. I just figured I'd post it.

There is no indication at this point as to when a decison will be made. Everyone thought it would be today. Bone originally tweeted it will be today. Then amended that it will not be coming today. So there is just no way to know.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio commits to the barn but he has not faxed his LOI in

I went to the Ole Miss/Auburn game this year here in O-Town. I thought about charging the field and punching him in the face.
LOL, I've thought the same thing at times. I would have loved to seen that. :D

Man, I feel for Cyrus with all that is gong on now. This is suppose to be a happy thing for him, but some fans from both sides have turned this into a ugly thing from the hate Bama & Auburn have for each other.Personally I think it might be best if Cyrus waits awhile longer to make a decision, and let things soak in awhile longer. Get away from the media, fans, facebook, twitter, and go about his normal life for a few weeks or a even a month. Then come back with a calm head & heart to make this big decision. I'm sure if Cyrus could've signed the week after his 1st visit to Bama he'd signed right there & then, especialy with how high Cyrus was about Bama back then after his 1st visit. Another example: If he took a visit to say FSU this weekend, he'd most likely come off that visit feeling great about FSU. At that age something new was very exciting, and was fresh to me. So in my opinion time might best to let things soak in because it seems Cyrus has liked every program he has visited. Most nice/good people are like this.

Prayers for the Cyrus & Family to get though these though turbulent times. Even though this is a serious decision it's still supposed to be something a recruit should be enjoying.

He needs too think things through no doubt about that..I wish he would just caught off his cell phone, close any social network web sites he belongs to(at least until this is over), and don't take any calls from his so called adviser or any college coach from either school until he tells the world where he's going to school..This has gotten ridiculous..You would've thought if there was going to this much drama around a recruit..It would've been with Clowney because of delaying his choice..This has been a weird ending to the recruiting season that I wish would just end..

I sat behind the Barn's bench at the Iron Bowl (about 10 rows up). You should see the [guy] in action up close if you really want to get PO'd.

Since this has turned into a Trooper thread.:D I am willing to bet that Au is his last coaching stop and he fits the bill for a lifetime payroll member. If you get my drift.

Re: Cyrus Kouandjio Commitment (all CK discussion goes here)

Here's the latest from scout.com

Scout.com: Cyrus Saga Not Over
I just wonder why the coach wants this to be over quickly??? I also wonder if the family has referred reporters/media to him.

It doesn't sound like he really knows anything though and this report doesn't really say anything new except that the family is not talking to anyone. But not talking to anyone except family is a good thing right now!
