I'm not real sure what you are getting at. I think the purpose to a curfew is to prevent things like this from happening, not to just keep it out of the news.
The players enjoy the fan attention, if they have to behave because of the closer scrutiny, that's part of the deal.
Bingo. ESPN and/or any other news organization isn't going to run a story every time a group of guys beats the tar out of another human being. They will, however, if the group is famous (athlete, musician, movie star, etc.). That is why coaches have curfew. Keep the players out of trouble and the team out of the negative light of the media.I think that was his point. Regular college students typically don't have curfews because the spotlight isn't on them. It is, however, on the football players and so the curfew is to [hopefully] avoid this type of bad publicity.
