Hope you get to feeling better soon...rtr

I've been sick all day and just now got out of bed, but I am glad to see Bama have a solid road win against very solid PSU team. I know people will nitpick about the areas that needs improving but overall I like the performance today. Nothing wrong with beating a top 25 team in their place on national tv in a hostile environment.

Okay, here's my nitpicks: 1) Entirely too many Hyundai commercials. I don't care what gadgets you put on a Hyundai, I am not going to think of it as a luxury car. 2) Nobody ate the grass. 3) ...

Nope, not problems today, I liked the improvements I saw.

AJ really won me over today....great job by him! Will be glad when we get Carter and Hanks back, but Williams had a fine day. Looking forward to seeing a comfort level come about and seeing some big plays from the passing game.

There was a point in the game where I wondered if Trent just didn't have it going. Eddie came in and really ran well. Then Trent came back in and started running like a mad man. I was beginning to wonder if he's got it 'upstairs' to be 'the man', or if he's better in a complimentary role without pressure of being the #1. As soon as I thought that, Eddie came out and Trent did his thing the rest of the game.

Very happy with that defense. Holy cow, they are really good!

I love how 4 plays into the game Blackledge starts spouting how "we are already seeing that this isn't the same Penn St. team that was overwhelmed in Tuscaloosa last year"! You're correct Todd, the team that played every down after that was the same team.

AJ is Hollingsworth-esque. I believe we found our QB.

Did they show Phillip during the game? Was he rooting the team on or sitting in the back with some buds like he did a lot last year. I saw ELY standing on the sideline a lot. He was holding up the four fingers going into the quarter. He looks like someone with GMAC's attitude.

PS had on headphones everytime I saw him. Good OL improvement...I don't think we will run the ball outside until we just have to do so! There's a plan at work and it looks like a good one!

If we have, I haven't seen it. We've either scrapped it, or have something special planned for future SEC opponents. I'm betting on the latter.

I thought A.J. played a great game. He managed the game and didn't do anything to get us beat. Exactly what you want to see from the young qb.

The offensive line would probably be fine if there was a greater variety of plays. As things are now the other team knows what is coming most of the time.
I truly believe that's by design. First of all, they're keeping it simple for McCarron. He seems to be getting his legs under him and making better decisions. When he masters certain aspects, they'll give him more. Secondly, they will have a wealth of surprises for stronger teams down the line, when we'll need to pull something out of our hats and steal a score. Perfect example is today's game when we need to get something going. That play we ran on 4th down and barely made was something we hadn't seen before. It worked and I think it was the momentum changer in the game.

99.9% sure NO, I'm shocked. That's about as creative as McElwain gets really.
I think it's Saban that keeps it vanilla at times. I think that has to chance somewhat this year. We can't keep letting opponents that we have on the mat, back in the game. That beat us as much as anything last season.
