If you want to get technical she said "You can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska" which is nearly as stupid of an answer as the one that Fey embellished for her comedic parody.
FWIW, not quite as bad as the often misquoted statement about Gore saying that he invented the internet or him saying that he and Tipper were the model for Love Story. Those are usually repeated as matters of fact, not comedy routines.

WHY are we doing this? Is Russia giving us $16 Trillion so we can pay off the national debt? Have they agreed to take all our illegal immigrants? No, they can't do that, the president needs their votes in November. What's up with this?

Again, why is Congress not involved? Should this be part of a treaty agreed to by the Senate?

That was one reason I wanted to post it here and see if anybody had heard about it. The date of the article was 2/20/12, I believe. It could very well be true and we didn't hear because the media isn't going to talk about anything that might make their "messiah" look bad.
