Late Night Football for Alabama vs. Ole Miss: 8:15 Kickoff

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

When you buy tickets, do you not consider the kickoff time and how it will affect your travels?

Since kickoff times are determined mainly by CBS and ESPN now, it's hard to consider game time when you purchase tickets as you won't know that until a week or so before.

The late start stinks; but, for me, it actually allows me to come as I coach basketball and soccer on Saturday mornings in Nashville. Happy to be able to make my first game of the season, even if it does cause me to drive home at 2 in the morning.

I read on Twitter that they couldn't kickoff during prime Family viewing hours, due to the potential for graphic violence. ;)

ABC/ESPN better get out the check book to pay for the obscene & graphic violence they plan on showing in "prime viewing hours" live from the W Georgia trailer park.

I knew I was getting old when kickoffs this late starting getting on my nerves. <sigh> Oh well. I'll have my 12 year old with me and she's normally an early-to-bed type. Ought to be interesting.

I can't make it anyway, so this one actually works good for me. I get to see my daughter cheer then head straight home to watch the Tide. If this happens against Miss. State I'll be aggravated though.

These late start times do nothing to promote a loud, excited crowd. Two years ago when we played Ole Miss late at night like this it appeared to be an absolutely snoozing crowd. Unless Ole Miss shows up this time I would assume it will be the same ole story.

I was about to buy tickets, but I have a question. What does "general admission" mean on sections like JJ and such? Why are there not any assigned seat numbers?

Yep 2010 it was the same time slot. We played pretty sloppy except for TR.

I hated that game. The team played uninspired football against a really bad Ole Miss team. We won 23-10. Of course, it was the first game after that loss to South Carolina, so I wasn't all that surprised by the lackluster performance on offense that night. On defense, we held Ole Miss to very little yardage, but unfortunately, the final score didn't indicate it. For some odd reason, our home games against Ole Miss are always just kind of, blah.

Where are you getting your tickets? I would be skeptical - I've never seen a GA ticket to a game at Bryant Denny, especially for a section like JJ which is a good sideline seat.

They are on stubhub. But I decided not to get one that said Ga. I got two in the hh section with seat numbers. I felt the same way you did, didn't seem right.

I remember the 8:15 Ole Miss game, it didn't end until about 11pm, that mean I need to take a nap during that Mizzou/USC game :D. CBS commercials + Spurrier's 50 passing attempts=6 hour game.

Those two games are not on the same day. Missouri/South Carolina is this weekend. Bama-Ole Miss is next weekend.

What we NEED to do is tell everybody else to just get out of the way and let us have ALL 2:30 kickoffs! Everybody else deserves the early morning and late night starts. Not us!
