Question: All about Tide Pride

I think was 3 or 4 seasons ago. As I remember it, we were told of the restructuring and given a choice to either stay put and pay the new donation rate or be relocated to a lower donation level as available. I chose to stay put as the new donation rate was not a huge burden for me at that time.

This year, money is particularly tight, and I was going to give up the tickets altogether, but my fellow Tide fans convinced me I could sub-lease them (selling the whole kit-n-kaboodle) without losing my Tide Pride membership. That worked out great and has enabled me to stay in Tide Pride this season. Hopefully next year things will be a bit more financially happy around here and I won't have to do this again, but at least I know it's easy to do if need be.

I'm glad that's working out for you. Unless you're just hard up against the proverbial wall, or have simply lost interest (can't imagine that ever happening), do NOT give up your spot. If you do, and you ever want it back, you'll be starting from ground zero. From that point, you're going to give up either a lot of time waiting in line, or a lot of money, or both.

If there's any way at all to avoid that, do it.

Glad you were able to stay in , Staci! And I agree, 4Q, once in TP... especially now with demand high... every effort should be made to hold onto your position. Although I had been on the list for several years, it took an expansion and some cash to get my midfield seats in the Touchdown Club. Our intentions are to make every home game (I don't come close to buying away game tix through TP), but it is a comfort to know that there are options (selling) to recoup some of the expense if needed. :BigA:

At one time, I had 4 seats, two where I sit now and 2 in the original TP all the way up in section N on the top corner. When both TP and BDO were combined, I gave those seats up in section N. I am kicking myself now for doing that. We are expecting our 1st child in August and will most likely not be going down to Bama in the fall. I have already sold my tickets to friends this season. But once things really get interesting in the upcoming years, I plan on sub leasing them out, there is no way I am going to give up my seats.

I joined TP back in 96 in the century club for a donation of 100 for 2 seats and in 98 they had a program called bryant denny only which they offered seats in the upper deck that was built, but you had to still keep your regular club. I was paying for century club and bdo td club. I did this until 02 when they combined all clubs together. I just couldn't afford to do this anymore and kept my 2 seats in td club, then a few years later they downgraded the td club to century club and I pay 260 for my donation, I think plus almost 800 for 2 ticket packages. I still don't understand why they have a 30 handling charge. Anyway, after all those years since 96 I have 194 tt points. At the present time I am not able to buy myself up the totem pole with donating extra. It almost like an arms race and now there are folks with astronomical tt points vs the average joe that doesn't contribute the extra donations.

I believe the rules were changed sometime in the 2009-2011 timeframe. IIRC Tide Pride accounts are now transferrable ONLY to a spouse. I'm sure if you call them at 205-348-6113 they would be happy to answer your question, however for the next week or so there might be a long wait on the phone due to them dealing with BCS tickets.

I'm a working stiff and have been a member of Tide Pride since they started it. Season ticket holder since 1986.

It boils down to $27 automatically deposited in a checking account every two week paycheck. They have treated me great over the years and never asked me to move up or down. The cost has gone up but so has everything else. Actually they are running lower that most cost increases.

Nothing beats being there in person IMO. Nothing.

The problem is moving from the waiting list to actually buying the tickets. People rarely give them up once they have them. Factor that in when you hear people say they wouldn't want them. The people that get them love it. You won't be getting my seat until I finally die. Simple as that. :biggrin2:

One of the best decisions I have ever made. You get to be a small part of Alabama football history and unlike taxes I get to actually support something I believe in. No brainer.
