I have no hard feelings really, I just hate that we missed on a sure thing instead of waiting on something that was never going to happen. We most likely turned away Reed and probably Poggi who actually wanted to come here. At this point, I don't think there's anyone we have to wait on. It is what it is, I guess.

I can certainly understand that. Believe me. That said, CNS knows what he is doing and this class is so far off the chain it isn't even funny.

Best class ever. This is better than our 08, 09, and 12 classes.

That said, did EV watch the NC game? Has anyone confirmed that he actually watched the game and wasn't at the beach that day?

I don't know much about recruiting but could it be that Saban intended for this to work out one of 2 ways..... take Vanderdoes or save a spot for the next cycle? Perhaps their view was why fill a spot with a guy you don't need when the spot may come in handy in next year's cycle? Maybe Vanderdoes was worth taking a spot compared to next year's talent but perhaps Reed wasn't? I'm just looking for a more positive way to view perhaps what the coaches were thinking on this.

I always thought he would be a tough pull. Hard to get most guys from that part of the country to come to the South.

And south bend is better??

I dont try to follow the numbers as closely as some because according to coach himself none of us really know what our count is. With that said, i would not be surprised if Saban tries to save two slots a year for a cant miss guy or to use going into the next season for early enrollees. If you can do that the first year it would not be difficult to maintain and would always allow you to take a stud at the end if one wants in. Just a thought.

Man, I was really hoping to hear Vanderdoes instead of Vanderdoesn't for the good guys, but taking off the Crimson glasses, I have to admit that he had 3 pretty good choices for finalists (much rather he picked UCLA over ND, though). On the bright side, what a position to be in . . . having the top ranked class by most accounts, but still lamenting one that got away. It's good to be the King.

I'll be the sour apple. IF this young man did not inform the Bama staff of his decision early on and thereby precluded another from joining the Bama class, that is very selfish behavior. I said IF. Reed, Bell or Poggi could have POSSIBLY signed.
Hopefully this was not the case, and at any rate I wish him well.
