If Johnny Football the most "hated" opponent in Bama History? If not, who is?

This stemmed from a conversation with a buddy of mine who is an LSU Fan (he hates Bama so much he says he'd pull for The Taliban vs Bama) -- anyway, he's got a big JOHNNY FOOTBALL logo he has put on his desktop -- Ugh!....

I know how bad I want to win this one -- but is JF the most hated opponent in Bama history? If not, who is?

I think I'd say Cam Newton. Well based on my lifetime. I was born the same year Peyton left 1997, so educate me on how hated he was.

Not even the most of the past 5 years.

Cam Newton.

Definitely Cam and it is frustrating that we never got our revenge game on him.

While he's not player, "Phat Phil" gets my vote for what he tried to do to our football program, I can never forgive the man & still hate him as much now, as I did when he was HC for The Viles..So I voted "Someone Else"..

As far as it goes "Player" wise..sCam would be my pick..

Manzel's just a petulant child who needed real parents instead of the pathetic excuses that he calls mom and dad. Cam and his Father knew better than to do what they did and to see them walk away by simply telling the biggest most obvious lie possible..... Well come to think of it they are pretty similar.

First of all, I wouldn't use the word "hate" but I know what you mean. I voted "someone else". Manziel is a punk, but I can't say he's done anything directed specifically at Alabama (other than win last year's game!). Honey Badger was more of a sideshow and a nuisance. Tebow was just dadgum good and was a standup guy overall, hard not to like. The Manning boys were similar - just awesome players, can't hate them for that. Newton was pretty bad, but he was just a one year wonder. Fairley probably comes closest for me in this list, as I really despise dirty play (Ndamukong Suh anyone?). However, there are many many more I could pick over him, especially coaches. Fulmer, Tubs, Kiffin, anyone associated with Notre Dame ever, and Lamar Thomas just to name a few.

Who is the someone else out there I wonder?

JM would have to be a total thug at two schools to reach the Scam-level. Scam was a thief and academic cheat while at UF, and a cheat at the barn. As a person there is little that is redeeming, which makes him a true "auburn man."

I really wonder what Newton did at UF, considering all that was allowed to go on there under CUM.

Phil Fulmer absolutely tops this list for me. I don't hate anyone, but I really dislike the things Fulmer did to Alabama. I can't imagine any player ever coming close.

JM is a great player and a spoiled brat. He's young so he has the opportunity to make things right with age. I don't like who I was at 20 years old.

If ya'll want to choose a Coach -- that's cool -- not what I was going for (as you can tell from the poll options) -- but whatever floats your Crimson Boat! ;)

For those of you who aren't old enough to remember, I'd have to go with Terry Henley. After we beat the barners 35-0 in 1973, he said to the newspaper reporters in a post-game interview that he hoped Notre Dame would stomp us in the Sugar Bowl. Henley was a typical aubie, with a very nasty attitude toward Alabama. He was also a member of the 1972 AU team that beat us 17-16 in the Punt-Bama-Punt fiasco. Cam comes in as a close second.
