****Bama vs. MSU Postgame Thread****

Everyone watching at our house last night said the same thing. Kelly got manhandled. Chad Lindsey needs to be the starting center against the Barn. Period. I hate to say it, but the O-Line started to gel when he came in and replaced Kelly. But, hey, I'm just a little female fan in South Alabama coaching from my sofa. Sigh.

Happy for this win and very happy to be 10-0!! RTR!!
USCw has an opening. ;)

I thought that's what the backs were suppose to do in that offense though.

I'm not a coach on the Bama staff so I don't know what is "acceptable" or not in the offense. I know it can't be by design because when Lindsay was in there you didn't see that.

Auburn has a very good, aggressive and opportunistic DL. So I'm not sure how much penetration we want during the Iron Bowl.

Lindsay needs to be put back at center. Even on successful runs last night there was penetration up the gut. We were just fortunate Yeldon did his thing to avoid them.

Exactly..We're a better offense with Lindsey making the line calls & he's just a better C, especially when it comes to run blocking, I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees that & thinks Lindsey should be our starting C, I almost didn't post about this earlier in the thread, cause I thought I may get flamed for posting what I did about Lindsey replacing Kelly at C..

Yep. No doubt there's a good reason why Kelly's been getting the nod over Lindsay, but I'm missing it entirely...

And I'm missing it as well Harmost, Kelly was absolutely getting manhandled against Miss St, and thought Lindsey should have been allowed to see if he could've sparked our run game.Cause Lindsey was getting pushed around the entire game, and I thought that made the rest of our OLine become out of sync, and when we made a good or big run, it seemed like it was when our RB'***** the outside of the OLine, cause our inside running game was simply non existent & that was due to Kelly getting pushed back into the RB..

Well one thing is for sure. The coaches will watch tape and if his performance was bad enough I'm sure a change will be made. No way we go into the Iron Bowl not putting our best foot forward.

I'm not jumping on you or anything. I just remember last year something about our backs BYOB or something.

Yup..I really hope so BB, cause The Barners is a team I'd rather not get behind on, especially in their stadium, since The Barners are positioning themselves for a really good bowl game, it's going to be rocking Saturday Night, even louder than usually this year than normal ..We don't need to get behind the booger eaters this year, cause it will be harder than the last few years to put them away this time..

Coach Saban will watch the tape against MSU, and if he sees what we are seeing, I have no dobts he will make the change..He always preaches he will put the best players in the game & I honestly think Lindsey is the better player of the two..

I agree I don't think we can afford to get behind early in this game. We've got to take the crowd out of the game early, put the pedal to the floor and don't let up until we're hearing Rammer Jammer.

At least we know that we have been down quickly before and came back. This team has faced adversity this year.

Agreed but I'd rather not go that route. Malzahn will pull out all the stops in this game. I expect to see to a lot of misdirection, halfback passing type plays. I also think they will run at a faster pace than they usually do.

I honestly worry about their speed sweep after the MSU game. Last couple years, teams cannot really get to our edge, but this year, I've seen that quite a few times. Their O is really good at disguising, and GA defense didn't started to find out what to key on until they are down couple scores. I hope we don't go that route, but I'm sure AU is planning to hit us in the mouth the first couple drives like in 2009. Our O better not have the slow start again...

What worries me is our secondary getting burnt on passes that come out of misdirection in the backfield. Malzahn's offense does this A LOT. Discipline will be key.

Exactly..I hate to give The Barners credit, if they shut us down in the 1st series & then scores quickly against us..It could be a longggg game, cause they are really good on offense, if we won't to admit that or not, it's imperative like BB stated, we come out *& get the "Big Mo" on our side of the field..We can't fool around against them this year..They're to good on offense this go around..Flame away & I'm sure I'll get flamed by someone for stating that..It's the truth though..
