****Bama vs. MSU Postgame Thread****

Exactly..I hate to give The Barners credit, if they shut us down in the 1st series & then scores quickly against us..It could be a longggg game, cause they are really good on offense, if we won't to admit that or not, it's imperative like BB stated, we come out *& get the "Big Mo" on our side of the field..We can't fool around against them this year..They're to good on offense this go around..Flame away & I'm sure I'll get flamed by someone for stating that..It's the truth though..

Agreed. They are good on offense. However, they'll let you back in any game with that defense. We have to take that crowd out of that game early.

I agree 100% with ya..Another factor is how pumped on adrenaline they will be, if we don't come out on fire, they sure is heck will, ans they're going to have two week to come up with some new gimmicky trick plays, and if we don't stay discipline, they will go up 2 TD's on us in a hurry..That's exactly what they're preparing to do to us..And Mahlzan is a good offensive I won't say guru, but, he's a good x's & O's type offensive HC..

As long as we stay in our lanes & don't fall for those gimmicky offensive plays, we can & prolly will shut them down of offense..I guarantee Coach Saban has been practing for auburn all year long..I have faith we will shut them down..It's our "Destiny" to rewrite the record books as we 3-Peat this year..

The ONLY thing I am worried about from this game is ball security. That is something that has continued to rear it's ugly head at most inopportune moments. If they have not got it now, I don't know if a couple of weeks is going to help

I do think our OL had a less than stellar game. I am not too worried about Kelly vs. Lindsay. I am more worried about Lawson and Ford on the edges. From what was reported that AJ said, he saw what was wrong and got on everyone. I except a good OL game no matter who is playing. They will work out some kinks next week.

I bet they think it's theirs to stop our quest for three straight!

I don't remember exactly when CNS said this but he said most of the plays we call don't work because of a lack of execution. IMHO, our less than stellar game against Miss State was simply a result of our lack of execution and focus.

When you don't come to play in the SEC you can get beat by someone that is supposedly inferior. We can point to several games this season where that was the case. Vandy over Georgia, as well as, UT over USCe, come to mind. When we come to play we're dang near unstoppable.

I honestly worry about their speed sweep after the MSU game. Last couple years, teams cannot really get to our edge, but this year, I've seen that quite a few times. Their O is really good at disguising, and GA defense didn't started to find out what to key on until they are down couple scores. I hope we don't go that route, but I'm sure AU is planning to hit us in the mouth the first couple drives like in 2009. Our O better not have the slow start again...

Also their WRs are effective blockers, so any defender trying to get to the edge may have somebody to contend with there.

3-Peat For Alabama Football

I'm somewhat concerned about the effort and mindset last outing. Did anyone else notice MST seemed to pass at will in the flat and on short routes? Does the team and coaches not realize AL has an opportunity to win 3 titles in a row? As an old-timer, I remember the 66-67 and similar debacles when we didn't get the title. Given the BCS is going away and 4-team playoffs are next on the horizon, this may be the last real opportunity - at least in my lifetime. I hope AL doesn't waste the opportunity.

Re: 3-Peat For Alabama Football

Please call in to "Hey Coach" Thursday and remind our coaches and players what is at stake. I will make certain to tune in.

Re: 3-Peat For Alabama Football

Pretty much any defense has to concede something, and Alabama gave up under 200 yards and 7 points, so I am not sure what you're worried about defensively. A well-coached offense will take advantage of what the defense is giving, and good execution on offense is nearly indefensible. And I am not sure I would categorize the 1966 undefeated season as a debacle.

Nope, they don't have a clue about it. Please call the athletic department to notify them.

I didn't like what I saw for the most either.....but I believe that we are blessed with the best College Football CEO in the business and he will make sure he has all the pieces in place to compete for 4 quarters when the need arises.

And as long as he keeps raking in these insanely good recruiting classes, I'm not willing to concede that this may be our last hurrah for a while.
