Maybe I am a glass half full person, but watching A&M and knowing how we play at home, I think we will have a strong win next week. And with that win, I think we become a little more confident.

I disagree with anyone thinking this group is playing uninspired. I think they are too uptight. Maybe it is the veterans feeling like they need to step in for the guys who moved to the NFL. Maybe it is something else. I don't question the heart one bit. Saban has been very positive and defensive about this group. Last year we knew people were going to be benched for entitlement. There has been no mention of that this year.

Hopefully with the win against A&M, our guys will get that Bama swag that allows them to go into games confident (like we saw against Florida).

Roll Tide y'all.

Listening to Eli and Co. post-game. Bama held Arkansas to 5 yards rushing in the second half and 89 overall. This is a team that averages 311 yards rushing. Yes, our pass D could use some work but our run D is very good. Just keep improving. Here's to beating TAMU. RTR.

Is it Sims' inability to stretch the D that killed our run game or is it because our OL can't get a push?? Is it because Kelly isn't there? Honestly I thought Kelly was avg anyway. Regardless, tonight's rushing game is completely unacceptable. We were lucky to win today. Still alive, yes. I thought Ole Miss would come out cold. But they're smoking the aggs. We have to pray they slip up, twice. Even if they don't, we have to finish without a loss and this team just doesn't provide a lot of inspiration.

I think Blake gives us the best chance to win next week vs A&M but I think our offense has a higher ceiling with JC. I think what is happening now is what a lot of people were alluding to before the season started. Blake was more ready to play right off the bat but had a lower ceiling. Now that teams have figured out how to counter Blake (as Earle said in the game thread, double AC and bring safeties in the box, take away the short passes, force Blake to beat you vertical down the field vs one on one coverage), we don't seem to have anything to counter with on offense. I do agree without better offensive line play that it doesn't matter who the QB is. I still think Blake should start next week because I think he gives us the best chance to beat A&M but if we lose another game I would be for starting JC to get him experience for next year. Blake did look phenomenal in the home game vs UF so maybe since the game is back at home next week he will be more comfortable..
Problem is, we thought Florida was a better team than they are. I mean, right now, they are getting beat at home by LSU, who has looked just pitiful this year.

Our offense looked good against a really bad Florida team.

Our offense is predicated on being able to run and when we can't then it looks something like tonight. It isn't about Blake directly but it may be about people not believing in his ability to pass deep (an indirect deal).

i've thought this since halfway through last year, that it looks like the team is playing under such immense pressure that the fear of failure is a burden rather than motivation.
this is absolutely correct, but is the plague of all success. happens to all teams in all sports that have continued success. it's how you deal with it that sets apart the true greats.

I'm speechless. Sims has made lot of questionable decisions... the OL couldn't get any push... RBs scared to be aggressive, Jones boys fumbling left and right.... Sims throwing almost "ints" the last two games.... Sims jumping instead of sliding inside... I dont know what Coach Saban will do, but expect him to make some changes...

They are not aa passing team but they threw a lot more passes tonight is why their rushing was down.

Seems like this was discussed in the preseason ;)

I think we'll have 100 threads about that this week.

I agree. I think if we put in JC now that we are conceding the season (as far as winning championships) because he has basically no real game experience. I think if Blake can catch that magic he had going against UF we may still have a chance at the SEC this year. I know right now that doesn't seem likely but remember everyone though A&M was the best team in the nation after the first game. Things can change fast. If we lose another game I would be all for putting in JC (or another QB) to get experience for next year. I just don't see the point in Blake playing out the season if we have two losses. He will be gone next year. Get somebody else ready for next year..

I, like most other Tide fans, was hopeful of another championship year. At the very least, I expected that we would work out the bugs and at least remain in the top 5 and at least be in contention. However the best I can say at this point is that this team is in a rebuilding year. Not to worry because every team has them. I expect that if the Tide continues to play like this we will lose at least another 2-3 games before the end of the regular season.

I disagree with everything you said, and here are the reasons:

Agree. Rammer Jammer should mean something and not make us look foolish. We didn't "beat the hell" out of anybody tonight and anyone with two eyes knows it.

Um no. Bama had good pursuit & held them to very minimal rushing yards. The front four for both teams played very well. This was not an Arkansas schematic change. Bama played excellent run D tonight.

Compare our talent now to our talent in 2007. We have one of the most talented rosters history has seen. CNS has all his pieces in place (except for QB).

I keep hearing this^

Every game has a life of its own. Getting a hat on a hat varies week to week. We had an emotional week last week and then we went back on the road. I think we can win out. The talent is there and so is the will win.

Respectfully disagree. Our run d forced them to pass. Early when we blitzed they hurt us but once we got pressure w out the blitz they were out of options. D looked pretty solid and played hard.
