****Bama vs. AU - Post Game Thread****

I have shared some these things in other posts but a few things:
1) My unsung hero- Bradley Sylve. Had the wheels to stay with Coates when EJ couldnt. Kept his head up given his past struggles (i.e., WVU). Played a great game. Also had an INT taken away from him.
2) TJ Yeldon running the ball with authority. You could tell he wanted this one bad. One of his best games in Crimson.
3) Blake Sims- the kid is a gamer and a leader. He is one of my favorites of the Saban era.

Just to dispell some rumors that started on some AU message boards..

I spent a little time pondering how on earth two different interpretations of the same basic play could potentially cost Alabama two huge games. I was one of the tie goes to the receiver crowd, loud and adamantly concerning the LSU game, and I won't even argue about the tie in the middle of the field.

But, you have to establish the possession, tie or not! On the ball Maze threw (it was Maze, right?), the receiver was in bounds, and defensive possession was taken after he was down. In this game, on the sideline pass, clearly the Auburn receiver doesn't establish possession in bounds. You can argue as this does, that Alabama came down with it first (in which case it might have just been out of bounds), but how on earth can you have dual possession with one guy out of bounds, and furthermore, how can both those call go both ways without someone not knowing the rulebook?

They blew both calls. Plain and simple. The Sylve one was worse though. I've never seen a player awarded a reception without actually catching the ball, save the Division III ref debacle in the NFL.

Ah, this is why it's so much more rewarding to keep believing and then win...than it is to complain and quit and have anything happen at all...
