Re: Lane Kiffin a candidate for 49ers OC job

Do we even know if there is any truth that he is leaving? Are we just feeding a rumor? If so it should be shut down. It sure isn't helping recruiting.
This isn't the only placed it's being discussed. Do want to expunge it from the internet?

You're right. That top 10 OT in the nation that just committed is clearly worried.

Re: Lane Kiffin a candidate for 49ers OC job

I would also ask why wasn't this discussed among his family before taking the job at Alabama and before giving a two year commitment. When the job was first offered I'm pretty sure his wife already knew whether she was going to move or not. It seems there were a lot of things that could have and should have been considered before accepting the job. That is unless he never intended to honor the two year commitment in the first place...

I doubt if this is as large an issue as is being perceived. When Mike Riley was being considered by Bama, it was said that his wife would never leave Solano Beach, CA. Which is why he held out for the UCLA job and was dropped from consideration by Bama. He was living in New Orleans at the time. Since then, he has moved to Corvallis and to Lincoln. She is probably still in Solano Beach.

Meh, whatever. Stay, go, I don't care. I've been over worrying about our coaches going back on their word for a while now. Hopefully CLK will stick to his word, if no other reason than that's what a real man does, but I couldn't care less either way WRT Bama football.

Bama will be fine, we'll make someone else a hot commodity if he leaves.

We are assuming CLK is already gone from what I'm reading on here. CLK is only being considered by the 49ers, not a done deal that he would even be hired.

I concur.

Re: Lane Kiffin a candidate for 49ers OC job

This thread is funny.... despite that all signs towards to 49ers is wanting Chud, or Shannon... and all.... Really, Just remember, if Kiffin leaves, every OC in the US will immediately call Saban and said " I want this job."

Re: Lane Kiffin a candidate for 49ers OC job

I think, as I've said before, that Saban's view of the offense has changed and I think Kiffin had something to do with it. IF LK leaves, then I think that the type OC Saban will look for has changed...
