I don't believe humans will ever leave the solar system in human physical form.
I'm starting to doubt we'll ever even make it to the moon again, let alone Mars, but that's a subject for another thread.

There are way too many galaxies with way too many solar systems for there not to be intelligent life elsewhere. Even if the odds of intelligent life forming on a given planet is minuscule, the sheer number of planets/solar systems/galaxies would present the possibility of quite a few intelligent species scattered throughout the universe. Simple life forms may even be quite common and may exist within our own solar system.

That said, I think the likelihood of any alien race being able to get here is infinitely close to zero without actually being zero. The chances of microbial alien life on Earth coming from asteroid.s or meteorites I think are substantially higher than some intelligent race visiting. I could be wrong. My name is not Stephen Hawking.

I agree. We are Earthlings and have evolved for this planet, this planet only. Intelligent life no doubt exist elsewhere in our universe, galaxy. That life no doubt has evolved for the planet it lives on and like us is locked into its on environment But physical life is not the only life there is. The physical realm is just a physical dimension that life exist in the form that we know, its not the only realm of existence though. An alien from another realm of existence such as a spirit realm could very well be visiting Earth and I think most would agree that a spirit realm exist.

Ah, no. Not saying they don't, but have no reason to believe they do.

The stars we see at night, even with a telescope, are only within our own galaxy. Our galaxy is tiny compared to many others that exist in space. There are more galaxies in space, and more planets within those galaxies, than there are grains of sand on every beach and in every desert on our entire planet.
With this in mind, it is exceedingly arrogant to believe that we are the only intelligent beings on the only life-supporting planet in all of space. It is then just as arrogant to believe that our planet has not been visited by intelligent beings from other planets. However it is logical to believe that if those beings are visiting our planet, they are not only more intelligent, but far more advanced than we earthly humans.

Sometimes I feel like the citizens of the Earth are all just part of a big game of Sim City being played by a highly intelligent alien-life form.....

We're probably lucky they are not here. If they were here they would probably be so much more advanced than us that they would look at us as animals only useful to eat or hunt as sport, neither of which would be good for us.

The only reason I see why someone would not believe in aliens is because they believe we evolved from some primordial goo or something. If you believe we were created then you certainly have to believe in aliens!

Any of you ever wonder if we actually are a product of evolution how come we require artificially made clothing and no other life form on this planet does? I mean we should by all intents and purposes have thick hide and fur if we are a product of natural selection. ;)
