There's also a TMZ article that came out tonight that's very detailed and damning. Don't want to post here because of the graphic content but the report is out there..

From a Baylor board on the just released emails:

Sure would have saved us a lot of trouble if they'd told us these details 8 months ago.

I think the Briles defenders are finally getting what they have been asking for: Truth, or at least some truth. There must be others who are still trying to protect themselves, like the AD.

Looks real good for Gustav to have been hanging out with art in Mobile for the Senior Bowl

And now Baylor wants to be recognized and given a pass because they have cooperated and assisted in the investigation. Isn't that like a rapist asking for leniency for helping the police convict his co-conspirators?

Baylor needs to get slammed, while Briles and his entire coaching staff need to be permanently banned from football.

I'm trying to figure out what punishment Baylor would get in this situation. Does anyone remain employed by Baylor that has been named in any accusations? I know some left on their own, but Baylor fired many when the findings were presented to the Regents.

It's still a pretty massive Title IX violation, isn't it?

I would tend to think so, but that's not NCAA related. I've seen some (not necessarily here) suggest the NCAA punish Baylor. Admittedly, I said "burn it down" after reading last night's report. Don't see the NCAA being able to do anything here.

And if Baylor has gotten rid of the guilty parties (coaches, administrators, and Title IX workers), what good is punishing them since they took action when the report was presented?

Well, Baylor has moved up the list pretty quick for the teams I hate most. Penn
State is still in the lead but Baylor is nipping at their heels. I hope neither teams wins another game.

That last link paints a picture of Obstruction of Justice, legally. Forget the NCAA. There seems to be enough evidence to prosecute some folks here.....

Oh, yah, I don't know of any way the NCAA can get involved here as it appears Baylor has cleaned house.
I agree that it's not an NCAA issue. It is an issue for the criminal and civil courts, and I have no doubt that Baylor will be paying some massive settlements. Some folks might also be checking in to the Graybar Motel in the extended stay plan.

There are a lot of parallels between this and the Penn State case. At that time, I was in the distinct minority -- not quite alone, but one of few -- on this board saying that that, too, was a question for the courts, not the NCAA. Let's just say that there were some spirited disagreements.

Today, I don't see that you can treat Baylor different from Penn State on that front. Either they both fall under the purview of the NCAA, or neither of them do.
