Wives, kids, Moms etc can interact here without feeling like it is Harvey Weinstein night at the Auburn Supper Club. Most of us like it that way. I don't think Brett has any members under contract ...

Did I miss something then?

Just a deleted thread where PitMaster decided to rail against the mods, saying that over-moderation of this board stymies it.

I pointed out that this is one of the most successful, consistently active college football boards in existence but it, obviously, fell on deaf ears.

I guess communicating in an organized manner without incessant cursing is a lot of effort for some people. :-/

Pitt can always go to one of the auburn boards since he posted in the auburn thread more than our resident auburn fan did/does.

This site is the only one worth belonging to. I love that the mods actually moderate and keep this board civil and keeps out the juvenile and absurd.

Guys, you're praising us as Mods for keeping things civil while saying another poster can go somewhere else. Think about that for a minute.

True but I think some posters want this place to be like that LSU forum. There has never been a decent discussion of football over there. I really don't want that here.

Disclaimer: I cursed on my first post and got suspended for a day or so. I'm not perfect but it is possible to change yourself.

This site stands an old saying on it's head.

"You get what you pay for."

Clearly membership here has a value way beyond the actual cost. From my standpoint, the mods are good to donate the time to keep things civil. They also bring a wealth of info both about the football program and game itself that helps keep things grounded.

If a mod should post or do something I'm not pleased about, I try to revue what I posted above before I show my butt.

I have never been suspended but I have been private messaged a few times. There are two things people should understand about being "called on the carpet."

1. We are supposed to understand the rules. If we do not --THAT IS NOT THE MOD'S FAULT.

2. Being called on the carpet is NOT PERSONAL. Heck, the Mod's don't know us unless were friends before we joined.

Armed with the knowledge that I was pushing the envelope on rules and knowing it was not personal -- I apologized and try to do better.

And I echo the great majority of posters here. I Love this site and the way it is managed. Keep up the good work.

Love this site and the way it is managed. I appreciate the thoughtful insights done in a civilized manner. Thanks to the mods for all of their efforts.

Well then. Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, can we go back to talking about LSU?

Well, there are plenty of threads to talk about that. We appreciate the good thoughts. It would be easier just to let moderating slide sometimes. Occasionally, we have posters join who don't agree with site policies from the very day they join. I'm not sure why this is. I would never join an an organization where I was in basic disagreement with the way the organization was run, particularly if I knew I hadn't the slightest chance of changing those operating policies. When someone's banned, it's never on whim, excepting rival drive-by posters and spammers. There have normally been a number of messages back and forth, urging changes in behavior. Some members are given an excessive number of chances to change. Nevertheless, there are those who will not follow the policies and want the policies changed to suit them. Some hang around longer than they should have been allowed to, but there's eventually an end to patience...

Completely understand. It took me a minute myself but I look at it like a job that I enjoy working at. Sometimes you just have to adhere. It’s sad timing, I guess, if he got banned. I really enjoy this website. Probably more than any because of my love for Bama. Happy to have moderators!

Honestly, some seem just to be determined...

Pit seems to be a good guy who just gets too passionate at times, but I love that this board has strict rules that it applies to everyone - even those who are respected and long time posters.

Thanks for all that you do. It has to be tough sometimes.

If you want to appreciate this site, go lurk on BOL or other Bama sites. Most of them seem not to be moderated at all. I realize to each his own, but the amount of profanity is reason enough for me to not participate.
Even though I've never met anyone here, I feel that a lot of you are my friends. The non-sports board can get a little testy, but you know that going in to participate.
I appreciate this site and the mods seem to get it right! I also click on advertisers occasionally like Fanatics when I buy Bama gear. RTR!
