I can see this one going both ways, but I think Riley will have that OU offense ready to hum and with a month off, I think Stoops will be able to shore up the defense just enough to let them pull out the win...

(Note: I do not believe Baker is the best player in college football, like some analysts believe, I think he is the player playing the best at the moment.)

With Baker the most likely to win the Heisman, he will have a target on his back in that game against GA. Recent history suggest QB's who win the Heisman, don't fare so well in the games after the ceremony. I think GA gets to him and Baker will have the worst game of his career.

Georgia should challenge OU a good bit more than anyone they have played this year but I still think they win. Baker is playing really well and they have a great group of RBs. And their OL is pretty good. That offense is hard to stop and idk if Georgia will be able to keep pace by the end of the game.

Oklahoma has had its share of close games against mediocre teams. Georgia is better than those teams. Georgia has a good offense and a good defense. Georgia's loss looks awful but at least it wasn't against Iowa State.

I don't see how many think UGA has no chance; the odds makers have this game as a pick'em right now. I like being able to run-the-ball and stop-the-run as the formula for winning so I'm going with UGA.

Georgia. I don't think Oklahoma has seen a defense the caliber of the three in the playoff. I don't think they have a shot.

I would like to see Georgia win, but I do not think they can stop the Sooners offense. Baker Mayfield sure gets rid of that ball quickly. Maybe if UGA players can keep him on his backside. However, I don't think they can get to him before he's already thrown the ball down the field for another TD.

This could be much worse than the 1st UGA game vs the Barn. I honestly don't think Bama can either. Please prove me wrong.

If I had to predict who would win the NC, Oklahoma would be my pick, if I had $$$$$$$$ on the game.
Me too. I predicted Mayfield to win the heisman and OU to win the NC last summer. Right now I’m standing by both predictions.

As always if Mayfield plays like he has been, OU wins in my opinion. If Kirby can find a way to get him rattle or rushing passes UGA could win. Really just matters who plays the best, as they match up pretty good. UGA should be able to run on OU defense. If they do not fall behind fast and big and not forced to pass a lot it is a pick em game. If UGA cannot contain Mayfield, OU will jump up and uga is not a big fast scoring Offense. If they can get run going and control game tempo they can beat OU. I say it is a toss up depending on who executes best and makes fewest mistakes. They match up for what could be an epic scoring game.

Over 100 yards and 2 touchdowns. Not bad.

Henry also had over 150 yards and 3 TDs in the game against Clemson.
I stand corrected. Let me restate my comment. It seems like the Heisman Trophy winner always lays an egg - except for Bama's Heisman winners. ;)

the month off sometimes does strange things to offenses like OUs....whole lotta rhythm can be lost in that time period, especially with Mayfield's ego getting stroked at the Heisman.

My gut feeling is that Oklahoma will light up Georgia.

History says that a great SEC defense shuts down a Big 12 team though.

I expect Oklahoma to win but I will not be surprised if Georgia shuts them down.

My thoughts exactly.
Also, CNS has said in the past that in planning for post season play, he starts with the game date and works backwards in determining the players' practice/rest schedule. Kirby has seen that plan be very successful over the years and I'm sure will take the same approach. It's Riley's first shot at the big time as The Man, how does he handle it??

The one with the most points when game ends :rolleye2: I think this game could go either way just depending on how the game goes. OU jumps out, it is over for UGA. If UGA can contain Mayfield long enough to get some points running on OU defense then UGA can win. UGA not built for big comebacks, if they keep it close they should be able to run on that OU defense and score. BUT if OU jumps to good lead, they get pressed into playing catch up OU may roll them.
