NOT blaming the officials because Bama made plenty of mistakes. Just pointing out TAMU made two FTs for the random technical on Sexton for talking trash.

most likely headed to the NIT at this point
Good job guys how surprising. So who does Bama lose to I meant play in the SEC tourney.
Gonna be tough getting the fanbase as excited next year to get into basketball, if we fail to make the tournament this year. It is gonna take results not marketing, not slogans, not new buildings or renovation, but actual results.

That's the problem with UA basketball. I love CAJ and I hope he succeeds and is the HC for many years but once you lose the fans it's going to be tough to get them back.
I would rather not accept a NIT bid. Based on their (lack of) effort it was obvious the team didn't want to play in it last year and I have no doubt this year would be the same.
The problem is with our fan base - not the coach or the players. As a rule we tend to lose interest if we're not winning 22+ games every year and everyone starts waxing poetic about how Wimp and CM woulda done it.

I really hate to say it, but I'm afraid he's not the answer. I hate to say it because I don't want to face the alternative of starting over and trying to build enthusiasm again. I just can't see the path forward with what I'm seeing on the floor. I said it the other day, but it appears right now that we're getting Grant-like results with worlds more talent. All of us can see the problems that having a Sexton on the floor can cause, but, looking at it from the outside, including from the parents of outstanding HS prospects, how on earth do you miss the tournament with a lottery pick running the point? That's the problem with UA basketball. I don't know if I can fault the fans. Remarkable that we still have a good basketball fanbase since we've only made the NCAA tournament 8 times in 25 years.
