Classy.Sad situation. I'll be glad when we get to the point as a nation of moving beyond this being the level of discussion we'll have to fix this stuff:

I'm not even really talking about gun control. We as a country need to come to grips with this stuff and figure it out on multiple levels.Classy.

I don't find just repeating thoughts and prayers (tm) every few weeks very classy either. I would imagine all the dead kids would find it classier to actually start doing something about it. But when the survivors step up and ask for it they get called crisis actors and all manner of other insults. Which is also classy.
They just confirmed this mother's daughter was shot and is in the hospital. No word on her injuries. They interviewed a mother earlier, who's daughter was in the class where the shooting started and she hadn't heard from her daughter or from anyone else regarding her status. I can't nor do I want to imagine.
Let's take the guns from his detail first....
why don't you pray for them to just disappear. Y'all seem to think that worksLet's take the guns from his detail first....
Perhaps it is. But maybe it's time for dbag posts when we have to have this same conversation so often. The point of my post was the normalization of it to the point that 8 deaths makes people barely bat an eye anymore - other than throwing out "thoughts and prayers" to show the world how concerned they are while not bothering to throw any thoughts or prayers (or god forbid action) into fixing things. No argument there, still a dbag post considering the satirical nature of it as it relates to 8 deaths.
The root of the problem is the people, not the inanimate object they are using. Examples abound around the world that in the absence of guns humans will take whatever means available to take a life. So why don't we retrain the brain behind all these thoughts? Somewhere along the way we've lost common values of respect and decency that transcend religion, politics, race, gender, and other differences in society. Unless we return those values to everyone in society we will continue to see stories like this.Let's take the guns from his detail first....
As I posted earlier, this stuff is getting so normalized that we are becoming desensitized to it.No argument there, still a dbag post considering the satirical nature of it as it relates to 8 deaths.
I have not, nor will I ever, go on a shooting spree. The only person on this planet I can control is me. The only person I will ever attempt to control is me. Taking liberties from citizens is a slippery slope that once you start down there is no return. The monster you create will surely come for you at some point.Perhaps it is. It was me that said "thoughts and prayers" upstream.I'm not even really talking about gun control. We as a country need to come to grips with this stuff and figure it out on multiple levels.
