Yep. Only put in Tua if absolutely necessary. I have confidence in Mac. He's a good quarterback. He played with confidence against State.
He was 3/6 for -1 yard. He didn’t do anything. Tua needs to start next week.
I guess the "experts" were right. MSU's defense is legit. Was very impressed with them, especially the second half adjustments. That second quarter TD after the fumble was huge to give us the 21 point lead.
MSU is a "veteran" team...it showed especially on defense. If their offense could have generated some points, we would have a much tighter game.
We needed a game like this. A game where we had to slug it out on offense and lean on the defense.
Main thing I think is to get Tua to look for the check down in some of those pressure situations. Some of that punishment he took tonight was from hanging on to the ball looking for the deep throw.
Tua couldn’t go back in. Got hit in the front of the knee not the back where his problem was.
Deonte Brown- Turf toe. Going to be an issue moving forward.

As was discussed in another thread, on another day, maybe Mac would have been better prepared if, in earlier appearances, he was allowed to run the full offense, with passes etc. I think it would have helped today. On Bama's penultimate drive, I was yelling, "Run the dang ball, Mike!" Heck taking a knee three times would have been better than calling plays that rely on Mack's limited passing ability. Geez, at least keep the clock rolling.
Tua has got to be coached to get rid of it. Here's a lesson Jalen could teach him. A throw out of bounds can be your friend, sometimes.
It not not his knee, but the quad above it.
If Bama does end up playing Clemson, Clemson's D will be even better than State's. Our o line needs to stay healthy.
