Why the heck do they think that "Tuscaloosa" is derogatory? Tuscaloosa has always been synonymous with the University of Alabama and interchangeably with "Titletown". A psychiatrist would have a field day with those folks.
that would be throwing good money after bad; the patient must be willing to admit they have a problem, first.

They call Bama that to make it sound like a satellite school, such as UAB or UAH.

Like I said, they're idiots. Heck, the L8U corndog thing was started by an auburn fan who simply stole it from ISU fans talking about Iowa (no link due to profanity, but I have the original link).

These AU fans are so stupid they can't even make up a sensible burn about a rival - they have to steal someone else's idea (that doesn't even fit)...

Again, idiots.

My Barner coworker started in on the holding call negating a TD and I reminded him we won by 31 and the SEC office wasn't responsible for the Gus extension. He moved on.

That is a real bunch of sickos over there. I hope they don't conduct the rest of their lives they way they think on ITAT. I genuinely feel sorry for their families...
LOL! They keep the Reynolds Company in good financial shape...

Are you hinting at something you have heard?
This from their board.

Per Longshore on AM740 out of Montgomery:

According to Marcello, the agency (CAA) that represents Gus was told yesterday to start trying to find Gus another job. Marcello got this from two high level sources of his.

Just as I suspected yesterday, this will be a process and they are going to try and make this look like a mutual decision and have that buyout cut way down since he will hopefully have another job lined up. The PR hit would come from the brand new deal Gus received if it was done any other way.

"scandal-plagued"? Good lord, they have had more scandals over the past 30 years than most SEC teams (including Alabama) put together .

yeah but their scandals were orchestrated attacks by the REC. our scandals have mostly been unreported by the main stream media because we have ESPN and the SEC and NCAA commissioners in our pockets.

Interesting. How many high schools can pay what AU needs to unload him? :biggrin2:

They always make it look like it was the Coach's decision...then pay him per the terms of termination. Happened with Wingnut, Chiznik, etc.

Only an idiot would let the barn negotiate the settlement down. Sexton ain't no idiot...

Other than the fact that it must be some puny attempt at a pejorative, what the hell is a " spuat " ?
A proud “65 year Auburn man” told me that a squat is an invasive fruit plant from Hawatti that was planted there by the REC. It unlegally and dismorally nurtures quarterbacks. He said everybody knowed it where have I been?

Will the Presidents allow it to go on? Will people with influence, Carville, money boosters of other schools sit back? Will the other conferences keep taking it? 11 out of 12, 30+ games. No team ever close to that, particularly in a conference and division that is supposed to be the most competitive in the country. With a coach that could not beat LaMo at home before the “process” began. bama grads/supporters or individuals with previous relationships ie, Saban/emmert with obvious conflicts of interest in SEC/NCAA offices occupying enforcement, officiating, etc. Processing, PEDs, blatant movement of whole families and jobs for families, assaults covered up on campus. In a state with a population less than most other states where the school in question is not in a garden spot. Here is a quote from wdeagle in another post that highlights it even more.

Without any inside information or special knowledge it is easy for anyone to see the saban/spuat success is WAY beyond a statistical outlier. First, take a look at bears success at the crapstone, 6 nc in 25 years (3 of those don't happen in the modern day game, 2 where they lost their bowl game and 1 where USCw beat them straight up and had a 12-1 record compared spuats 11-1), so that is 3 comparable nc in 25 years and most of those years there were no (or 105 limit after 1973) scholarship limitations. So here we are today with 85 scholarship limitation (creating parity in the sport and funding other sports being the primary reasons) and assuming spuat wins it all this year, saban/spuat will have won 6 of the last 12. During this same time no other team has won more than 1. Is it buying players, using ped's ,paying off officials, etc or all of the above? I have no answer. I don't believe their coaching is just that much better than every other coaching staff in America. From my perspective this being allowed to continue is ruining college football.

Like I posted on another thread my brother was the president of one of the Rec branches. They cheat he knows, and laughs about how they get by with it. This is a fact no tin foil crap. We are the only AU fans in the family. "
"most of those years there were no (or 105 limit after 1973) scholarship limitations. "

Not that it matters because limitations or no limitations are the same for everyone, but for the record, Coach Bryant never coached in the SEC without scholarship limitations. Not even at Kentucky. The SEC had limitations long before the NCAA instituted them in 1973.

"Bobby Dodd insisted there was no other reason he left the SEC, other than the 140 Rule. The 140 Rule stated a college program could only have 140 football and basketball players on scholarship at any one time. The teams were allowed to sign up to 45 players a year, but could not exceed the 140 Rule."

But, But; Cowherd, the football savant, said Gus was going to own us.
Just needs time; they are still young. And, yes; he played the "we are young " card again in post game presser. C'mon man

Several years ago, while in-processing at Ft Benning, I had a random encounter with a 1LT who asked me where I went to school. I told him and he laughed “oh, you mean UAT.” I noted that. Not because I am offended but because it’s an indicator of a high level of stupidity.
A few days go by and I find out I am the young guy’s senior rater, his career basically in my hands. I can assure you I handled this responsibility with the highest professionalism and his career took the appropriate path as a result.
