Diggs update?

As much as would love a full speed Diggs on the across from surtain I just can’t see it. I would feel great about the defense against OK with two corners you can put on islands, but it’s not to be. Expect smith to get thrown at all night until he makes them stop.

Be careful. Savion actually has been playing very well, minus the run defense on the triple option.

I actually thought Savion Smith had decent run during Diggs' absence. It is not just run options, but If I remember correctly, he wasn't doing great job on the screen passes... and his tackling wasn't impressive... but I think he has improved a lot in last 2 or 3 games. Having Diggs back will boost the depth, but I can see Diggs moving around to spell both CBs at time...

FWIW, leading up to the LSU game, they were dropping a lot of trash about how we'd soon find out why he could never start for them...
 
Granted, I don't think UGA just bombed on him but he was giving up easy throws with regularity. May be by design though but he was definitely UGA's target either due to scheme or individual abilities.

There's no doubt about it. I flinched every time I saw the ball coming down in his area...

In my opinion he wasn't good against the run or pass against UGA or the Barn. He was picked on especially in the running game, and make no mistake OU can run the ball. He hasn't set the edge well and if I see it Lord knows Riley sees it.

I trust CNS as well. For me the biggest thing is for him to be aggressive setting the edge on the run game. He has to be aggressive like surtain and the nickel and dime DB’s and safeties have been. I think he will give up some passes, but if he does good against the run that will be enough in my opinion. That is something that is easily coachable and I’m sure it’s being addressed. He just has to execute and he is athletically capable.
