That was like getting hit by a missile doing Mach 3

If Najee decides to comeback it will take a tremendous amount of pressure off our passing game, not that Jones and company can't easily handle it. But DC's are going to be forced to deal with a truly elite running game.

Jerome Ford is in the transfer portal. I wonder if any other RB will leave if Najee stays? I think B Rob stays since it is in senior year (?) and he is from Tuscaloosa. I am sure that Trey will stay, thinking he is the other stud (which he probably will be); hopefully K Rob stays, and the 3 we just recruited. It will be crowded, but I do hope Najee comes back. Maybe the others can get lots of experience and blocking techniques down with the easier games on the schedule. Najee will be very much needed with USC, UGA, LSU, Texas AM, Auburn.

Derrick Henry, Kenyan Drake, Mark Ingram and Josh Jacobs in the NFL should be brought up to these guys interested in transferring. Eddie Lacy's name could be included since his limited success in the NFL had nothing to do with anything Alabama or Nick Saban did. They got him there. The more we can keep the better.

i am actually surprised that Henry's game has translated to the NFL...i was concerned he wouldn't be able to do in the pros what he did in college but he can.

and great googly moogly is he humongous...in the huddle he's one of the biggest dudes in there.

he's definitely a freak of nature type athlete.
I'm a little embarrassed that I actually voiced some of the same concerns. In fairness, however, Derrick is no longer showing some of the flaws in his college game...

I think at the time your concerns were legitimate. One of his weaknesses in college that I noticed was foot quickness once he got to the line and the hole closed before he got there. He was taking too long to "bounce it outside" and in many cases couldn't. He would just get tackled.

There is absolutely no doubt he worked on that and has allowed him to make it in the NFL. His running speed was never the question. He's legit fast. But he struggled a lot in college at changing directions when forced to, before being tackled. Boy has he corrected that! LOL!

This dude is worth a 1st or 2nd round pick. The NFL (in case you didn't notice) is moving back to a more "feature" back -- and less platoon. As the DL and LBs get smaller and faster -- a RB like Henry (and Najee) will become highly sought after very soon. I think next year Najee will be in the first round -- Possibly Top 15

IMO, Roydell, Jase, and Kyle will most likely get redshirted, maybe one of the 3 freshmen might see playing time if needed. Najee and Trey will be 1A and 1B while KRob and BRob will see lots of mop up duty.
Before anyone says BRob will be 2nd behind Najee, remember Trey was getting high praised by the staff during pre season and most thought he was going to passed up BRob as the season goes along. Unless Trey is not 100% , I wouldn't be surprised to see Brian Robinson transfer. There was talk that he was thinking about it not so long ago. Now with a busy backfield , he just might think about it again.
Regardless, you can never have enough backs esp. in the SEC.

One of the articles in the top thread " Latest Bama News" focuses on B Rob. It said maybe if he doesn't transfer and doesn't win the 1A or 1B RB job, he could possibly switch positions to H Back or Full Back; he has also played receiver and safety in high school.

He is in a system that realizes his strengths and limitations, I don’t know if Derrick would work in every system. He doesn’t have the suddenness of a smaller back, so the power zone scheme the Titans use is perfect for him. he lines up a little deeper in the backfield , can see the blocks well and it Gives him good slanting running lanes designed to get him to the sidelines . You know what happens when he gets there. 753632AA-AD76-4F4D-83BF-53D9F19742ED.jpeg

I don't think his knee pads are going to work.

I hope Najee does what’s best for Najee, he is a really nice kid. thar said, I would really love to see him back. He is a freak athlete , and I think he can star in the league given the right circumstances. a team like the Chargers or Pittsburgh that uses the RB a lot in the passing game.

Iron sharpens iron and it is survival of the fittest. I see Najee if in fact he is staying being an obvious #1 and Trey overtaking BR at #2. BRob and KRob will get some snaps and the 3 TF will redshirt unless one of them totally shows out.

The system has to commit to DH. He needs touches to get lathered up and then watch out. It would not work in places like KC, Nawlins, ATL and other heavy pass offenses. But this time of year in the play-offs and it gets cold the Titans system may just prevail.
