Hypothetically if Bernie said he didn’t believe in the Holocaust you would still be behind him? That is partly my point. Conservatives seem incoherent in who they prefer on evaluations of personal character but they’re actually relatively consistent when you look at their larger agenda. If you seek to repel American conservatism - I call it practical fascism but that is just my opinion - then it must start with coherent, consistent agenda that people will broadly support. As long as a candidate isn’t actively seeking to genocide Armenians I couldn’t give a damn if they were failed by their history classes and come across as a dummy from time to time. I don’t really care if they said some sexist stuff in the past as long as it is abundantly clear they have grown as a person today. Clinton was not pro-LGBT for most of her life but when I voted for her I didn’t expect a rollback for the social gains made in that community.
Denying the Arminian genocide is like believing that the Earth is flat. It just shows the sheer stupidity and/or ignorance of a person to not believe in empirical historical and scientific facts. The bigger issue with Cenk Uygur denying it is that he has profited from it by using the name of the group who carried out the genocide.
There is a lot more deplorable stuff about Uygur to list off that would take a novel to flesh out. But to give you an idea of how bad he is, there are only a few people in this country that I would ever hesitate voting for over Trump... Uygur is one. He is literally the David Duke of the Left.
Bernie’s interest in endorsing him is because Cenk gives him free publicity and free attacks on his opponents.
At some point we have to look for the greater good instead of the personal preference. It’s really how we’ve ended up with so many deplorable people in power.
As far as conservatives and Trump.... Trumpers aren’t conservatives.
