Scott Cochran is Leaving for Georgia

Just throwing another name out there, Wilson Love has followed Lane to FAU and Ole MIss. He is not Feld but does have experience with his own program and is a bama guy, but may be a kiffen guy too?

I seem to remember CNS going to bat for CSC when CKS initially went to UGA. At the time, it was a good move for Alabama and Cochran. When he approached Coach Saban this time, I suspect there was virtually no motivation to fight for him and more likely exasperation. If he wants to go, thank you for what you contributed, pack your desk and head east. I hope he wears a black polo for the game.

Look you guys need a cathartic lightening rod to focus you're ire. I'm your guy! ;)

Is Herby right in his comment? I didn't answer that point, just posted his comment. Personally, I don't think this is a sign of Bama's decline - not by a long shot. If anything I think it makes CNS even more determined to prove people like Herbstreit wrong. Saban has an uncanny way of rallying the troops.

no wouldn't work. He mimics SC and wouldn't go over well here imo. You need to be yourself not someone else.

From what Chris Low said it doesn’t seem like Alabama put up much of a fight to keep him this time.

CSC gave Bama some great years and I have nothing but appreciation and respect for him. Hate to see him go but wish him well... except against Bama of course.
I've kept this to myself for the last few years, but I think we're long overdue for a change in S&C.

Best of luck to him - good to see Kirby giving up an on the field coaching position to a guy who has literally never coached football.

I think this won’t hurt as bad as some think. I know as a fan going to every game it probably improves the experience since we don’t have to suffer through the overplayed “Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeahhhh” 3rd down videos.

From the “business” side of it. CSC has 10 years in the retirement system. He’ll get a check off it. If he goes to UGA he can start another “check” that is if KS can keep his job.

I think a lot of people forget Saban came with the 4th quarter program and told SC to implement it

Was just about to post this. Make no mistake the strength and conditioning program is Saban’s. SC wants an on the field role. He looked into joining OM with Lane in an on the field role earlier (per Suttles). SC is only 40 and has to break through to on the field position somehow. We didn’t have an opening. Good luck to him.
