Where ever there's BBQ, Bourbon & Football
it would be utterly hilarious if we actually get stronger as a result of little bowl cut Kirby trying to make us weaker.
That is probably what's going to happen. The longer Kirby goes without cashing in on his initial momentum when he was first hired. The program is steadily heading back to how it was under Richt.

To me the thing that seals the deal is that it's a pair of people with complimenting expertise. As good at Scott might have been at his job, he was still just one man and could only focus on so much. Furthermore, he clearly wanted to be on the field doing other stuff, so it begs the question of how focused he was in latter years at all.

In this case, Alabama gets two people with plenty of expertise and football knowledge. What ever areas they might be lacking in, in relation to Scott, I think they can more than make up in other areas.

So I've been out of town and pretty much off the grid for about a week. In all of this, is it possible CNS talk to SC about a need for change in Strength and Conditioning and SC asked about an on-field position and CNS denied it? Not that it really matters how it went down, but when I first heard this I thought it was more of Kirby trying to play copy-cat, but I wonder if this is just another example of CNS playing the wizard and Kirby is the pawn?

I confess. I don't know anything about
David Ballou. I read the little on here about him, but that's not enough information. What kind of guy is he? Is he Demonstrative?
Will he make our team, a lean mean fighting/playing machine?
(My apologies to fans of 'STRIPES'...)
Is David someone who might come for the long haul? Is he a guy who will work our guys hard?
What kind of body does he want to build?

There are lot more things I want to know, but I don't know enough right now to ask the right questions.
Good question. TIFWIW, but looking on some of the Indiana boards for some more intel on him and Dr. Rhea, a poster remarked that at some point Coach Ballou expressed a desire to go to the pros, but this was before CNS came knocking. If accurate, I hope we can change his mind on that. With the facilities that are coming, Bama ought to be the destination job for any sports conditioning professional.

I think Kirby is about up to his chin in drowning expectations. To be honest, he's probably just unlucky to not have won a NC in this timeframe (Thank you Tua and 2nd and 26) but with Florida and (hopefully) UT getting more competitive, it's just a matter of time until the natives get extremely restless with Kirby if they don't win it all real, real soon (like in the next couple of years).

It is indeed interesting, I think, to speculate what CNS would do with the talent that`s recently ( last 2 years ) and is currently now in Athens. No excuse, IMHO, for Kirby Smart not winning a national title in the next 2 years. I know we haven`t either, but CNS has absolutely nothing to prove. Can`t say the same thing about Kirby as a head coach.

This upcoming season is the best chance for them to win since 17 ... they better hope Newman has a Cam-like season. If not its gonna be another 3-4 years. I think uga fans are patiently waiting for cns to retire and then they will rule the world lol

I think Mullen and Florida will become more than just a yearly irritant for UGA on their way to the SECCG. I think Mullen and Co are going to be equal competitors to Kirby's bulldogs. Mullen has access to a lot better talent at UF than he did at Starkville. I think he's the type offensive coordinator (given the right QB for his system) that will always give Kirby's defense fits. It's not an automatic for Jaw-Juh.

I certainly hopes he is successful. Very interesting to hear about his methods. It's like something had to change. Maybe this ends up being to our advantage. Looking forward to seeing it play out.
