Game Thread: 2020 NFL Draft

I've seen projections as high as 16 players being drafted.

They lost a TON to this draft.

If this coming year's season happens they are going to have a pretty big drop off as a team.

Many were calling them a "one hit wonder" at the end of the year and this draft certainly seems to cement that thought.

Combine that with losing Joe Bradey, who was the architect of the whole turnaround, and they are practically starting all over.

Would love to see them fall on their face this year and Coach O become the next Gene Chizik, which I think is a strong possibility.

maybe. I just think he falls into that AJ Mccarron distinction in that there wasn’t anything that just wowed by scouts and he was labeled a game manager.

I wonder the same. I actually feel AJ was more talented and had more upside than Fromm but the NFL never saw him as a starter, at least to this point.

well #1 AJ has a moron for an agent if his goal was to get on the field. I said it 1000 times on here when he won his grievance that he would be best off going to a team with an aging qb if he wanted a real chance as a starting quarterback. The teams I listed were LAC, Pittsburgh, NYG, NO, and NE and look at what has happened at all of them 2 years after AJ attempted to beat out Josh Allen.

LAC- traded away Rivers and got Tyrod

Pit- played 2 rookie QBs the entire year due to an early Roethlisberger injury

NYG- Eli retired

NO- had Teddy Bridgewater play a few games that got him a starting job at Carolina

NE- Brady left the Patriots with Hoyer and Stidham

The truth is AJ really should’ve picked a better opportunity than the Bills, and probably should’ve realized that his best case scenario for playing was an injury or a changing of the guard moment.

But if it was to have a long career of making good money then he succeeded

I agree, but fully expect something to happen to short circuit that.

Adding Diggs made the Bills 10x more dangerous than what they were last year. But out of all the AFC presumptive favorites they by far have the easiest path to the playoffs.

Not picking them to win the AFC, but they wouldn’t surprise me either

Hopefully we will get to see this all play out. I am pretty sure it will after hearing that the NFL players get paid even if there is no season. No way the owners will let that happen.

lsu has 19 guys that are draft eligible. that is a lot of guys off that team.
Looks like 14 for LSU to tie Ohio State. Very impressive mark for them but I would hate to replace all that talent. Imagine Bama's draft class this year if all our eligible juniors and guys like Moses had declared. Could have had 1-2 more guys in the first round. On that note, I keep thinking it will be a real shame if we're not able to get this team in the field this year after we got these guys to come back.

he couldn't get it done on two huge stages in the course of 1 calendar year. that has to be a drag on his standing too.

I think no one really wants a game manager anymore. I really think Eason had the higher ceiling of the two, but Fromm winning at South Bend really made Kirby think a game manager type qb could win it all with a dominant defense. It was a mistake, and UGA paid for it.

I'm sure we will hear we are the best draft class ever blah blah blah talk from the Tigas. And like you said a few more come out early from Bama we are likely there with them. I will take the few we have coming back over draft bragging rights any day. . Moses coming back for instance in my opinion is huge.
