Derrick Pope and Evan Mathis last night?

I was just wondering how Derrick Pope and Evan Mathis faired in their preseason game last night. Any observations from you folks that were able to watch? Thanks!

Evan Mathis looked very good IMHO!!! He is currently starting at RG. Though he did get injured mid-way through the 3rd quarter (he got a stinger on his shoulder). Pope played the second half for Miami and several good tackles. Pope will more than likely play second string LB for Miami.

I thought it very telling re: Mathis' performance that the play after he left the game with the shoulder stinger, his replacement allowed a sack. Of course, most of that was because the running back moved into the wrong position and the RG had nowhere to go, so the defensive linemen just barrelled right through.

Mathis I saw came out with the shoulder, but the Panther site did't elaborate this morning about the extent of it. Wait and see I guess. He was playing well though.

Good recap. The only note I'll add is that Mathis was injured- shoulder? It did not appear to be serious though.
