No ESPN or SEC Network on Spectrum (9/11 update: Settled)

I know many people don't like AT&T as a company but, if your neighborhood has, or gets, AT&T Fiber, I highly recommend the service. We have been in our new house for 2 1/2 years now and the service has been fantastic. Hardly any outages and the few that have happened were brief.

The biggest outage was earlier this year when WOW! cut the fiber line feeding our street. That took AT&T 2 1/2 days to fix but it wasn't their fault. I talked to the repair guys and they said it was the 3rd line WOW! had cut in our neighborhood that month, plus 1 water main. He said WOW is the worst at just digging wherever and not caring.

Anyway, if you have access to AT&T Fiber, I highly recommend giving it a look. It has been far better than any cable internet service we have had in the past. We pay $80 for the 1GB service here in Montgomery (and the government ACP program knocks another $30 off so we only really pay $50).
I have a family member that had the 1GB with AT&T fiber. It was 60 a month. They went up 5 dollars one month and the next month they increased it 15 more to 80. He called to get a slower speed for a cheaper rate and they refused to give it to him. Keep the same speed or increase was the only option he was given so he told them to keep it and dropped it.

Bama v Texas is listed as being on espn+. 🙏
Where? I'm on ESPN and I don't see ESPN +. I just see ESPN.

IF anyone has Verizon phones, you get HULU, ESPN Plus and Disney for 10 dollar a month. I would recommend go ahead and sign up for that. I'm covered in several way should we have issues.

I currently have Direct TV, but we don't have CBS channel due to media beef SMH. There's way for me to watch CBS, OTA, Download CBS app, ESPN plus, Amazon, etc.

THere's way around watching channels, just gotta make sure to check your phone plans.. ATT, T MOBILE, verizon, etc.

ESPN+ is a streaming service

I just can't wrap my mind around Spectrum urging it's own customers to switch to Hulu Live. Or to any other provider for that matter. Imagine going to a service station and them saying "don't come here. Go down the road to Exon, Chevron, BP, etc". Granted, I didn't go to Wharton School of Business or anything like that. And somebody correct me if I'm wrong. But.... URGING your customer base to go to a competitor just does not seem like a successful business model. What could possibly be Spectrum's endgame there? It would be funny if it weren't so sad

Have you ever seen the movie Miracle on 34th Street? The hope is that if a business seems like it has customers' best interests at heart that customers will give them more business later when the opportunity arises. Most folks definitely do not operate that way any longer, but your question just reminded me of the rivalry between Macy's and Gimbels in that movie.

That's a good comparison. It's definitely something right out of Miracle on 34th Street. If that's Spectrum's approach, they are certainly doing it on a wing and a prayer. It's a HUGE dice roll. They may be urging their customers to switch to a competitor, hoping it will be just long enough for them and Disney to kiss and makeup. That is some leap of faith. More faith than I could ever have

This will bite all involved in the rear in the end. When the backlog of tv/movies make their way through post production and the writers strike not being settled sports will be the only thing worth watching on tv for the foreseeable future. Unless you love reruns, gameshows and reality tv it’s gonna be bleak for these cable providers

Disney is greedy.. they are the culprit. I don't care about Disney+ but my kids do... got an email today that starting on Oct. 12th their streaming service is going from $9.99 a month to $13.99 a month..

I think Spectrum is in a death spiral at this point. That's why they are telling their (soon to be former) customers "heck with it. Go to Hulu Live. Shoot, you will probably like it better, if we're being honest"

And aren't the actors on strike right along with the writers?

South Park had it right.
