Pride goeth before a fall..............and he will fall hard very soon. Then I hope the media hounds him relentlessly for failing
Personally, I don’t care for his egotistical showoff ways. Didn’t when he played for the Braves, either. But to each his own.

He also said nick Saban had forgotten more than he’d probably ever know. Or something very similar. Who cares if he thinks he’s the best? I’m sure Kirby feels that way too. Elite competitors always feel that way whether it’s true or not. He’s a salesman and who knows what he actually feels but a lot of people are getting all bent outta shape over a guy just “talking his talk†as he likes to say
This is what "infotainment" media is today. The most dramatic, divisive, provocative lines lead to $$$$. Paul Finebaum has known that for years, back to his Birmingham Post Herald days. Can't most of us just ignore crud like this?
Thank you. Folks need to listen to the whole interview. He basically said, “What do you expect me to say? Of course I’ll say me.†Then he talks about picking Saban’s mind to absorb all he can because he’s the GOAT. Prime has the showmanship up front but seems to be pretty solid behind closed doors. Cant be surprised though. That’s how he was as a player. This is a teaser title by Yahoo!
Blah, blah, what is the obsession with hating Prime? To be fair, CFB is filled with coaches that everyone considers a jerk, so to me it seems as if the media and the talking heads hate the fact that he’s exceeding expectations and he didn’t go through the “traditional†way of rising through the coaching ranks. Ain’t the first time somebody had found success in an unconventional way, and won’t be the last. Stop being sour in the face, CFB is changing and he looks to be the face of it.

My issue with Prime Time from a FSU alumnus: Forcing kids who wanted to go to school close to home to leave and have a dream deferred. People were appalled when he drove half of the Colorado team into the portal, now all of a sudden, he is a hero. Deion is about himself, and that's the bottom line. I don't care what he says about Coach Saban or any praise he gives him. Yes, kids in the portal is the current "business model". Not half the team, though.
FWIW here is what he said immediately after that...

He's trying to attract a particular type of athlete to CU who has the swagger and confidence he has & wants his players to have. He will be uber successful - relative to what CU has achieved in last 25 years.
HOWEVER, he will not win 7 NCs. He will not got 196-28 in his first 224 games at Colorado. His team plays & will play in a putz conference. He coaches at a school & state that doesn't really truly care about football.
He's 3-0 at Colorado (and barely so)

I'm not in any way suggesting Deion is correct in his assertion that he is the best, but if you're waiting for Deion to fail because his mouth wrote checks he couldn't cash, well, I've been waiting for that for 30+ years...
And I'd argue we could use some of that type of player at Alabama right now
I'm not convinced Deion is going to fail like many are. He might be the next great thing.
What's hilarious is how people keep moving the goalposts wrt Deion - it reminds me of how people do that to Bama...
"No way Deion can assemble a 'team' in the offseason and have them ready to open on the road against TCU" quickly became "but that TCU team lost a ton after the NC game last year" (ignoring that Colorado returned eight players total from the team that won ONE game last year.)
Then CO proceeds to run off two more wins so they're at 3-0 and most folks are acting like it's no big deal. Like the Buffs aren't playing a LOT better than anyone expected.
It's actually amazing what he's done at CU in one off-season. I mean, you want to see Bama line up against Colorado next week? I don't.
Can Deion keep it up? Only time will tell. But no exaggeration, just a month ago most were suggesting CO would be lucky to win four games, now bowl eligibility seems almost inevitable.
Deion is a winner. He just keeps winning. I don't care for his brash style - it's the antithesis of how I wish to exist - but you cannot argue with his results.
