Bama is in over FSU because..,,

Norvell said:
"I am disgusted and infuriated with the committee's decision today to have what was earned on the field taken away because a small group of people decided they knew better than the results of the games," Norvell said in a statement. "What is the point of playing games? Do you tell players it is OK to quit if someone goes down? Do you not play a senior on Senior Day for fear of injury? Where is the motivation to schedule challenging nonconference games?

I would say scheduling UNA would be the very definition of scheduling NON-challenging non-conference games so you really didn't have the motivation to schedule challenging non-conference games.... AND you were down to UNA by 13-0 at the start. SOOOOOOO.... you did end up winning, but only by outdistancing them by about 4 TDs in the last 8 min of the game.

So whiney.

His non-conference schedule wasn't his problem. It was the 9 games against the worst P5 conference in the country.

In response to OP -
Weak conference (thus weak SoS - LSU is #5 in SEC)
Were not world beaters WITH JT - without him all year no way they are undefeated
All four in playoffs are >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Florida or Louisville , and CFPC acknowledges that.
Only one team could possibly claim a better win (highly debatable) than Bama over Georgia
In summary, the “four best teams”. Right now.

I get FSU pain. I would hate for Bama to get left out in a similar situation. Their leadership could of made different choices in the past that would give their rants more validity, but they took the easier road. I don't like how the taxes I have to pay are spent. I rant about that. Neither rants are going to achieve much. It's just the price of being in the game.

This whole reaction is almost like the committee put in a 2 loss / non-conference champ in over FSU. It's so overblown but that's what media is these days.

The committee didn't even really need to go down the whole 'injury storyline' to justify things imo. Would have been received a little better (perhaps?"). All they needed to say was something along the lines of looking at strength of schedule, quality of wins (Clemson and Louisville - really?) and best win it was clear Bama was in. Same goes for Texas. I really think Bama and Texas were a package deal at the expense of FSU.

The only question in favor of FSU is "do they deserve to be in"? Sure, they do. But, so does Georgia (who in my opinion is a much better team than Washington). But, we all could ask would FSU be able to beat Alabama or Texas and anyone with reasonable intelligence would say absolutely not.

The ACC was also one of the conferences who nixed the 12 team playoff happening this season. So, the ACC shouldn't say anything. I understand completely that FSU should be upset over this but Norvell's letter is over the top. I can't imagine Nick Saban, Kirby Smart or even Ryan Day penning a letter like this if their teams would have been left out.

As far as Dannie Kannel goes, I'm not surprised one bit and completely expected his meltdown. No one (and I mean no one) takes him seriously anyways. You can see why ESPN let him go. If only playoff committee decisions could be that easy.

That being said, Bama and fans are completely blessed with this news. I would never have expected anything close to this after week 2 and 3. Honestly, I didn't expect it until the moment it was announced.

Roll Tide!
