Bama is in over FSU because..,,

Heck, they should put GA vs Fl St in a bowl game and show that the committee made the right decision. I think it would be a route.
The UGA fans are begging for justice by placing Bama against Louisville in the Orange Bowl..............claim Bama needed gifts to win, and that would be sweet revenge.............I then proceeded to explain that UGA is hanging their hats on Moral Victories because real ones eluded them

The other reality is that NO ONE in America believes that FSU is better than the SEC champion. NO ONE.

So why would you put in an undefeated champion of a near G5 conference????? Bama's loss to Texas is probably better than most FL State's wins. Ugh.

I really have no idea what's been said behind closed doors. Sankey seems pretty confident.
Well it’s not like he’s gonna come out and be a whiner about how the committee is stupid. He knows how the game is played. Still, he should have been preparing for this contingency and lobbying for two SEC teams weeks ago.

That’s what I was getting at. This has caught him as flat footed as it has the committee.

This is a bit off topic, but I’ve said that if we beat GA, I really don’t care about the playoffs, and I still say that.

The reason is that I was most interested in beating GA for coach Saban.

Idk how many other people feel this way, but I really wanted vindication for Saban and to short-circuit the growing narrative that the bowl cut/GA has surpassed Saban/Bama as the premier entities in the game.

It’s kind of weird I guess, but I’ve gotten to the point that I basically view Saban and the team as a single entity.

The respect I have for the man is almost incalculable.

Monumental win for Bama.

Let the committee do what it does.

My point is we have no idea if he has been doing just that.

Just because he's not running to ESPN doesn't mean he hasn't been doing his job. What you and I think doesn't matter - it's what the committee thinks, and we've no idea what Sankey has (or hasn't) been doing to lobby for the SEC.

IOW, his confidence might be because he's been assured an SEC team is in. Or it might just be false bravado.

We'll know in a few hours.

Agreed.

Like it or not, the conference championship really is the only thing a team can play for as it's 100% objective. This subjective nonsense wrt the committee is like the NCAA basketball seedings - it's not really about finding the best team, it's about building an entertainment package.

This is what I said to my son last night after the game. If we don't get in, then okay. We broke Georgia's winning streak, their hearts and won another SEC Championship.

My oh my. After watching the awful FL State/Louisville game, how could anyone with eyes and pulse put them in the CFP??

While I am at it. Oregon/WA looks like pick-up intramural ball in my opinion. Ugh.

Lets be honest. The actual 4 best teams today are ALA, GA, MI, TX. No doubt in my mind.
Well that’s the real trick isn’t it. The committee clearly doesn’t watch the games.
