Bama Game Thread: Official Postgame Thread - Bama vs. Michigan...

Slow start hurt us but this teams grit kept it close and within range. Amazing come back but wheels came off at the end. Didn’t feel great about going into ot. Can’t believe the last play was really the best shot we had with all the cards on the table. Hate it for the players, they really went through a lot to get here. Roll Tide boys. Remember this hurt and use it to come back swinging

Run to the outside and he probably walks in. They had everyone stacked up the middle. I can’t believe that is what they came up with after 2 TOs. UM stuffed the middle all night.

Maybe, but Milro isn't effective at all running sideways. I agree the play called seemed iffy, We just needed a better passing game so we would not have to rely so much on his legs.

I need a break. I have not enjoyed this year. I have not enjoyed the direction of the game.
Its bleeding into basketball for me too.

the payoff isn’t worth the stress. College football has now become like so many other things, that it’s no longer enjoyable

Pretty sour at the moment.

No one on here would have picked us to be in this position after the USF game or event the Arkansas game.

Milroe is a good kid, stayed committed to the program, and likely has the respect of his teammates. But at this point in his career, he is an exceptional athlete playing QB. And to boot, something has regressed with McLaughlin with his snap consistency. The cadence of when to snap has never been right between him and Milroe.

This was a flawed team several respects that made it to the playoff. A team with elite athletes. But when you need a 4&31 to beat Auburn you have issues that will come back to bite you.

I'm ready to move onto next season.

Some of y'all need to step away from the keyboard.

We don't need coaching changes, we don't need wholesale changes in personnel, and we certainly don't need Coach Saban to retire for no reason.

If all y'all will remember, before the season we knew this was a rebuilding year and most people didn't think we'd win more than 10 games.

What we do need is improvement across the board, which is certainly possible given the personnel we have returning, what we currently have coming into the program, and a couple more strategic moves we could make. We need next year's O-Line to be a standard deviation better than this year's version. We need next year's receivers to be a standard deviation better than this year's version. We need next year's QB to be better at reading defenses and making decisions, whoever it is. We need next year's defense to, well, basically hold serve.

That's very doable.

And if we do, we're probably looking at a National Championship caliber team...

Real talk. Do we want Jalen as the guy next year? Can he improve? I love 22 and 36...RB future is bright. I just don't know what I think of the Jalen era. Kid is so inconsistent with plays and in some cases...effort. That run in the first half hurt bad. Was he in pain? He kind of slowed down on a few runs. Oline needs an upgrade too.
Strengths: leadership/character; running; deep passing game; measurables/athleticism. Weaknesses: field vision, decision making , consistency. I'd say open up the competition, though I'm not sure Ty's going to stick around if he thinks that's not going to happen.

If Jalen spends more time fixing his issues and less time selling t shirts he could become unstoppable.

I’m with you

Michigan D did what I figured UGAs defense was going to do.....overwhelm the OL, blitz from wherever, force quick decisions from a QB that can't make them.

With a month to prep, they knew what to do to Milroe. And had the experience to pull it off. Milroe not being able to read the field and read defenses finally bit the team in the butt.

This is exactly how I feel. I had way more fun during the crazy Covid season than this year. College football has changed too much, and it will no longer be the same. There will be multiple 3-loss teams in the playoffs from now on, and it’s just not right. This might be the beginning of the end for me.

Disappointed but not too much for whatever reason. I was bound to see them lose in person eventually.

I'm now rooting for Texas and Sark
