Bama Game Thread: Official Postgame Thread - Bama vs. Michigan...

Amen!
We were up 7 with 4 minutes left. But at that time, Michigan had only scored 13 points! How in the hell were only up 7 points when the d had held Michigan to 13 points? It should have never come down to that drive if the offense had done their job the way the defense had done theirs.

It’s a 4 qtr game. The defense didn’t get a stop when we needed it the most. Great defenses do..

Def absolutely has a share in this. That was an epic collapse on the last drive of regulation and OT. Hot knife through butter is an understatement.

Alabama barely beat a team missing their two best receivers.
I'm sorry but if Alabama gets to use that excuse in 2021, so does Georgia in 2023.

But hey....no 3-peat, no greatest team of all-time, no Kirby taught Nick all he knows. Just the reality they have to feel the same hard gut kick we do.
I didn’t use it in 2021 and don’t give it to UGA this year. Injuries are part of the game. Deal with it. Bama was better this year. They were better in the NC game then.

Im trying not to pile on him but there seems like there is a degree of arrogance with confidence in how he approaches things. I think at some point you need to tune out your doubters and stop the constant “I told you so” campaign.

I’m shocked at where we are and happy to not have to hear UGA anymore this year. He has alot to be happy about but if he truly wants to make it to the nc or the nfl then he has to see that there are serious flaws in his game that can be improved on.
I'm not sure he doesn't. But I don't know him personally. Hopefully he works his ass off this off-season

For sure. Agreed. I'm not saying Milroe is blameless. Not even saying he should definitely have the job. But the doom and gloom stuff is a bit much.

I thought we all agreed earlier this season this isn't the same dynasty Bama. It is what it is and we'll probably be pretty good and have a shot next year.

I think we have a good shot next year with or without Milroe but I think we have to improve in some key areas.

Just random.....the play call at the end was perfect but the execution was horrible starting with the snap. Those of us that love college football have a very tough choice to make with the nil, portal and all that crap. I have seen the WACK stuff for weeks and have no idea what it stands for.......
No matter RTR!

What you see in Pennix in this second game is what Milroe can get close* to being if you look at his athleticism and skill set. (*close as in 75% of a Pennix).

The big questions: At 20 or 21 years old, is it “too late” for JM to develop that level of polish in terms on reading defenses and decision making development? Many QB gurus would say by this point it has to be innate, a second nature behavior almost.

The other question is one @B1GTide brought up earlier: does JM approach next year as “I have arrived” or “I’ve got miles to go before I sleep”? If it is the former, then as my dear deceased father was fond of saying “There won’t be enough mustard anywhere to cover that hot dog…”

As bad as the offense was tonight, the defense needs to take a lot of the blame as well. The game was won, and they allowed a mediocre offense to drive 75 yd to tie the game! Really bad effort.
Do you know what Bryce Young would’ve done with a defense that held someone to 20 points?

Won a National title is what.

Seth had a bad game. He's had issues all year long and part is on him and the rest is on the coaches if they failed to properly deal with it. It will be interesting to see if say Simpson challenges Milroe for the starting role and if Rees returns. Saban is in that comfort mode right now and he may also prefer continuity for the offense. That said, Rees is certainly a step down from guys like Sark and Kiffin as a play caller and schemer. M is good but that was a winnable game without all the typical miscues that have plagued Bama teams recently. There is some really good talent returning at key positions for next year in what will be a very tough SEC.
