Where ever there's BBQ, Bourbon & Football
If this is true, then maybe I was wrong about DeBoer. If he's really going to start an interior QB all because he was the QB last year, then maybe DeBoer is not the right guy for the job after all. It's obvious to anyone with eyes that Ty Simpson is the better QB at this point in time.
Let's don't go nuts just yet. I think CKD is the man for the job and if JM starts its because CKD feels he's earned it. But it doesn't mean he's guaranteed it the entire year. He has to perform or someone else will be given a shot.

The players seem to like CKD, so I think he will figure out what's best for the team. Probably who all starts game one won't be the same starters by the end of the year.

I don't keep up with this Manning camp, but is this Manning camp for invite only or can anyone QB attend? If anyone can attend, I wish some of our other QB's would have signed up just to see how they would have graded in the Manning camp.
I think the college guys are essentially counselors so I assume it's invite or maybe some volunteer thing idk. I think they also have some time though where they get coached up. I don't know the exact schedule or anything.

I think, and correct me if I'm wrong here, that you're calling multiple posters here blind.

No? I never said that. I said anyone with their eyes can see it. That's a general statement. I wasn't calling anyone blind. Certainly wasn't intending to come across that way I'm on this board enough to know that many of you agree with me about Milroe, so it's definitely not that. I wasn't calling anyone anything. I was just saying I'm disappointed in DeBoer if this is true. This would be the second year in a row we started the second best guy. I just want the best guy to play

I think you should hold off on that. JM will likely start, but I believe TS will also get some quality minutes in the first couple of games too.
He will, and desperately needs to, if he's to be the starting QB next year in 2025. On field experience will go a long way in him being prepared. Then there's Mack and Lonergan wanting a chance to show their stuff. And I hear Lonergan may emerge as the best of those three. If true, then it's going to be an interesting battle for #2 as the season progresses. I'm pulling for Ty. They're all talented, so it may come down to who shows the most leadership.

I think the playing time at the beginning of this season is more about CKD determining who is the permanent starter going forward THIS SEASON.

Just because JM might start game one doesn't mean it's his job the whole season.

My eyes say Milroe is our best quarterback at this time. He's the most talented, and shows incredible leadership. Your notion that CKD would somehow be in question as coach, if he starts Jalen, astounds me. I'd like to recommend Whoosh for your glasses. 😉

Most talented reading defenses pre and post snap?
Most talented reading defensive end on RPOs?
Most talented seeing/accurately throwing screen and short passes to wide open receivers/backs?

Other people/posters eyes see other things in JM than "best/most talented" in these areas.

This is all true of any quarterback any given year. All quarterbacks have to perform well to keep their starting position. And coaches do keep an eye on that. So, yes, the coaches will be watching Milroe. And the coaches at UGA will be watching Beck. And the coaches at Ole Miss will keep an eye on Dart. It's no different with Milroe.

From what I've seen in this video, and from the games, Jalen reads defenses just fine.

You don’t have to be a sunshine pumper or even a Milroe fan to be disgusted by the fact that there are people posting here who obviously want Milroe to fail so they can be proven right that he’s a bum of a QB.
Really, I don’t get that vibe from postings on this board, more of not trusting Jalen to win a championship, let’s see what the other kid can do.

I can’t recall there being so much disdain for a player among the fan base.
I guess you don’t remember Andrew Zow

I want the best player to get the job, but there are some people who would criticize the way he chews gum at this point.

It’s gotten pretty absurd.
to be fair, the criticism has gone both ways , Jalen plays well, and out come all the ‘ proved you wrong’ postings here and on social media.

I am with you, I don’t care who wins the job as long as it’s best for team success.

Miltoe certainly wasn't the best QB in A Day. He was closer to the worst than the best. He wasn't the best QB in the spring practices. Given the way he acted after the Michigan game, and during A day game, I'd also call his leadership into question. He knows how to play the team politics, and that's really about it. A true leader doesn't draw attention to himself the way Jalen does. A true leader is humble. Milroe is none of that, and pouts when things don't go his way

I’m honestly over his whole schtick. I wish he would just go away.

There’s been much more negativity than simple “Let’s see what the other guy can do.“ Some of it borders on player bashing to me…but I could be wrong.

I don’t recall the same level of criticism of Zow.
