In all seriousness, Taylor would have been a luxury more than a need. We have Smith who is #2 ovetall Safety in the class and who also happens to be an in state kid, I'll take that any day of the week. In case anyone forgets, he is a great athlete who can play multiple positions anywhere on the field. Furthermore, I mentioned earlier on Dijon Lee who could also move to Safety if need be. We'll be more than ok.

Where does OL Geno VanDeMark fit in? Is he just for depth, or will he start at a position? Could he play OT, or is he OG only? I think he briefly played Center.

I don't know of course but my guess is he wants to be at the 2's this year because not only would he be 1st off the bench maybe but I expect both guards to go pro after this season which would put him in position for 2025 which is all he needs for a shot at the pros

Depth this year.

Should start somewhere inside next year in 2025, all three of our interior guy are likely nfl bound.

That's a huge move with Michael Carroll. Hopefully other services follow suit. If we can get Haywood (#7 overall) which I feel we will that will be two 5* OL in this class

It's not a stupid question. 247 ranks Dijon Lee and Darrll Johnson as 4 star, but the composite rankings have both as 5 stars. That's why on the team rankings it shows Alabama having two 5 stars.

The 247 composite is a mystery though. 247, On3, ESPN and Rivals all have the kid as a 4 star, yet somehow the composite on 247 bumps him up to a 5*. I'm not saying the guy doesn't merit a 5 star ranking, but the 247 math is kinda obtuse to make that happen.

Not that I'm aware of. I think the other tight end we'd looked at (olesh) was deciding yesterday. Edwards ended our looking at tight ends.

There are 3 of our targets committing this week but I can't remember who off the top of my head.

I’d expect Elite 11 MVP to be 5*.

He made a big jump from 80 to 37 on on3 and yes its a bit surprising the jump wasn't bigger especially amongst his position. He out performed about 4 or 5 of the guys still ahead of him all summer. Will likely land it with a big senior year.

He did pass juju and McIntire fwiw. But should also be ahead of knight and zollars, at least.

I am too. I don't think 247 has done a recent update. The regular season will be a key indicator on getting the 5* bump and I expect Keelon will have a huge senior year.
