2024 Presidential Election IX

In the good old days of the internets and such, we had this unwritten law called Godwin's Law.

Godwin's Law meant that, any time an argument devolves into accusations of Nazism, the argument is over.

Well, I always thought there should be a corollary: What happens if we are talking about actual Nazis or neo-Nazis. With the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers in one corner, and the guy running for office refuses to disavow them, I think we have reached that point.

I'm about ready to throw in the towel. In my opinion neither is worth my vote.
I'm sorry. I will do every legal thing I can to keep rump out of office. He and is minions are freakin' dangerous.

I agree. This country is so divided we will never get back to what we once were. I don't have, nor will I have, grandchildren but I worry about my children and the world they will have to live in for the next 40 plus years. I miss the world I grew up in, born in 1960.
Wow. Okay. I'm going to say it. You suffer from privilege. Not a woman. Not a black. Not an immigrant. Most likely Christian. Personally, I definitely remember the "Whites only", "White Women, White Men-Colored" signs, and the "No Dogs or Jews Allowed" signs. I remember my mother's first credit card---because she could finally have one in her own name. I remember that doctors didn't have to tell a woman she had a deadly disease if her husband prefer he tell him first. Things were easier for YOU is what you really mean.

Excuse me, have you met Congress? I'm voting blue. Period. That's the only way we change things.
Congressional control is constantly flipping back and forth. I don't see how that equates to change. Not to mention, Dems have had control of the executive for 12 of the last 16 years. The only change that has stood out to me is the startling rise in neo-conservatism.

The insane filibuster rule which requires 60 votes in the senate for anything to pass has allowed a R minority to keep anything from getting passed. That among other things.

Seems the honeymoon period for Harris is over as her numbers are starting to dip a little.

The Electoral College bias has returned with a vengeance (natesilver.net)

The mistakes of 2019 could cost Harris the election (natesilver.net)

Personally, and I'm no expert, I don't think she can beat Trump but I'd love to be wrong. I think her numbers will continue to fall and eventually will look more like Biden's before Nov. 3.

i would be a bit skeptical of nate silver’s take on things these days

How about The NY Times? If that poll is right and who knows if it is then Trump will almost certainly win the electoral college. I still lean Kamala as the winner at this point, but her momentum has definitely stalled.

it could be an outlier at this point

The NYT/Siena survey is one of the few high-quality, national polls that did not show the vice president receiving at least a small bump following her quickly capturing the nomination and her coronation at the party’s nominating convention last month in Chicago.

Reactions: UAH and Go Bama

JD Vance: "Months ago, I raised the issue of Haitian illegal immigrants draining social services and generally causing chaos all over Springfield, Ohio. Reports now show that people have had their pets abducted and eaten by people who shouldn't be in this country. Where is our border czar?"

The city of Springfield, Ohio, debunks the false claim being pushed by Vance in a statement to ABC News: "We wish to clarify that there have been no credible reports or specific claims of pets being harmed, injured or abused by individuals within the immigrant community."

Just like his running mate and political party, much of what spews from Vance consists of racism and lies.
