Bama Game Thread: Official Postgame Thread, Bama vs. UGA...

I'm eight hours ahead so I did not watch a game that kicked off at 0230, but did watch the highlights.
A really good first half. Not perfect, but really good. Jalen Milroe demonstrated he truly has improved his short and intermediate passing game. That is a good thing.
UGA is a good team and I suspect will take out their frustration on Little Brother next week.
On the other hand, I suspect Tejas will thump UGA, so UGA is going to have two losses by the end of the regular season.
The highlights did not show the Bama 2nd half three-and-outs, so I will have to wait and reserve judgment.
Overall, Coach DeBoer had the lads ready to play. Good on-ya, Coach! Welcome to the SEC.

Been here the whole time.

You must not have watched the second half of the game. He nearly caused a fumble on the jet sweep, the interception was a terrible throw, one of a few he made, he missed a wide open Outz for a third down conversion. He left over a minute on the clock
snapping the ball too early.

As close to perfect as the first half was, the second half was vintage Milroe. Throwing up prayers to Ryan Williams isn’t how you play quarterback.

Enjoy the win instead of trying to throw shade at folks because Milroe put it together for a half.

Idk what caused this comment to pop up but what are we doing here? Lol Milroe put up almost 500 yards and had 4TDs against Georgia.

Pretty sure crimsonaudio posted something that said no player has ever run for 100 and passed for 300 + 2TDs against a top 5 team in the history of the AP or something like that.

Well, I hope we take a good, hard look at our second half offense. Was it play calling? Were we resting on our laurels? Who knows. All I know is we stunk it up except for a couple of Ryan Williams plays. Georgia obviously made the adjustments they needed to shut down what we were successful with in the first half, but we kept trying to
I think K Law was going to be a important part of the game plan. I could tell the way Kirby was talking about him that they saw some stuff in practice. I think him going down may have affected our play in he second half. Also we played with more tempo in the first half. I think the offense lost some rhythm just trying to hold on to the lead. The sideline reporter said KD told Milroe we have a big lead just be careful with the ball. Before this game if someone had told me we would win by 7 I would have been stoked. RTR
I leave it to the c and o experts but it looked like his loss hurt our outside game a lot

It started because of petty grudges over the QB stuff.

We won a BIGTIME game but instead of celebrating that people feel the need to take digs at other people over comments from weeks ago.

The thing is the intended targets were already praising Jalen after the Wisc game for the Perfect throws he made in that one and acknowledging his improvements.

Some folks can't just let it go.

Jalen has improved and especially in this game he demonstrated some beautiful short to intermediate passing in the 1st half.

I think everyone who was wrong has owned up to it.

If I haven't then here's me doing it....

I was wrong.

Jalen is the MAN.

He's the most dynamic QB in CFB and we can absolutely win a Championship with him playing like he did last night.

I can't speak for others but can't we all just enjoy the team making improvements and not try to eat each other up with petty bickering after a HUGE Win.

I mean we will probably be the new #1 Ranked team today.

We're all on the same side here.

Roll Tide.

Agreed. This should feel like a huge win despite the weird game flow. Roll Tide

That was a crazy ride last night. It was really fun at first. Then, it caused some anxiety. Then, there was serious concern. Then, there was major disappointment. Then, there was incredible jubilation and relief. Bama started out flawlessly. UGA made adjustments and kept punching. Bama nearly went down but landed a haymaker to the chin to recover. UGA still kept punching until we slipped one final jab. That was a heck of a game.

I couldn't understand why the coach talking to him through the helmet wasn't telling him to burn clock. He could have easily used up over a minute in the next to last drive.

If Jalen Milroe weren’t….well, Jalen Milroe, there would definitely be some Heisman talk brewing for Ryan Williams.

If RW keeps it up he'll certainly be in the discussion for the Biletnikoff at least.

I'm not sure a TF WR has ever won that.

Right now he's Top 15 in Receiving yards.... but he only has 16 recs.

He's leading the NCAA with a RIDICULOUS 28.88 YPC

He's avg per game stat line is 4 Recs for 115 Yards and a TD

But also that just for 4 games because of the BYE

If he had a 5th game like the WRs ahead of him right now He'd also be Top 5 in Rec Yards

It's just ABSURD what he's doing on a minimal amount of touches.

I guess he did’t see the other QB turn it over 4 times. No one’s perfect but Milroe is our guy now, might as well get use to it and support him. Plus that pass to the TE hit him in the hands, it was not a great pass but should have been caught. Clock management was an issue and he should have given the ball to #5 on a couple of those jet sweeps but that’s things to work on.

I don’t it was Jalen’s fault in the second half. CKD and CNSh took the foot off the gas and allowed the offense to stall. Defense was gassed in the second half because of it. We should have put up 50 on them.
I don't know CKD allowed taking the foot off the gas. I do know Georgia made really good halftime adjustments, and we apparently didn't. Georgia won the halftime chess match. And they played ball control, not giving us many chances to do much. But we still found a way to win.

I love the win, and I'll take it however we can get it, but I'm glad it was us making plays at the very end and not just surviving our big lead.

We missed a couple of great opportunities at the end of the first half to put them away, or at least really deflate them. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, but I thought the defense played well last night. We forced 4 turnovers, and every one of their TD drives, except for the last one, required a 4th down conversion. There was as much luck on Georgia's side in staying in that game as there was 2nd half execution.

We have a ton to work on on both sides of the ball, but we are as good or better than anyone in the country if we stay focused.
