Yup. I felt good about what happened yesterday. Felt like they started to click in 2nd half.i'm guessing we will see a more cohesive and functional offense as well

I’m still trying to figure out why the punt, which appeared to hit a Missouri player and was recovered by Alabama never reviewed? There was a running into the kicker penalty on Missouri, and a questionable late hit on Alabama. But no signal was ever given by the officials and no review. Did they rule the penalties as offsetting?
If you watch the Missouri player, by his actions it was apparent the ball hit his foot because he ran towards the ball (which led to the late hit call on Bama). Shouldn’t that have been a recovery by Alabama and a “post possession†foul?
It might have been reviewed while they were dealing with the penalties. They say every play is reviewed, but they only stop play if they need more time or see something which they need the head ref to have a look.I’m still trying to figure out why the punt, which appeared to hit a Missouri player and was recovered by Alabama never reviewed? I just found a replay. To me it look as though it hit the Mizzou player’s heel and kicked back. Usually, that is a “Peter†call by the return team to get away from the ball, not run towards it. That is what struck me as odd. I know the announcers doing the game were confused by it as well.I couldn't tell if the ball hit the back of the Missouri player's foot as he was running away from it. The ball may have hit right behind but it did take a backwards bounce. The Missouri player saw the Bama players jumping on the ball and came back for it but that doesn't necessarily mean that he thought he touched it. He was free to pick it up if it was not controlled by the Bama players. The whistle was blown right when or an instant after Law screened the Missouri player away and knocked him down. Law did nothing wrong but was penalized for it.
Maybe the possible touching of the ball by Missouri was reviewed in the booth and quickly dismissed if it was readily obvious that the ball did not hit the player. We wouldn't know that.
The penalties were not offsetting; Law's unnecessary roughness personal foul was ruled after the play was dead. Alabama could decline the running into the kicker and Missouri would get the ball where it was downed and then 15-yards would be added in Missouri's favor. DeBoer accepted the penalty after the long discussion, so it was 5-yards against Missouri and then 15-yards against Alabama before the re-kick.

Certainly it could have been reviewed during the prolonged discussion without official stoppage of play. Just seemed weird.
My record stands triumphant - over all the decades I've gone to game I've still never attended a game at BDS where Bama lost.
You're welcome.
I do accept free tickets if you wish to utilize my obvious mojo...
It is tied for first with worst call of the game and maybe the season. So, just now joining the thread...
What are the general thought on that play that LT sacked Cook? I was with a group and none of us heard a whistle (on the broadcast). Did I miss something? Never did hear an explanation and the broadcasters were as confused as I was.
I'll try to go back through the thread but hoped somebody could enlighten me while I search. TIA!![]()
Re the declined running into the kicker that wasn’t declined/unnecessary roughness/punt recovery play…what happened there?
I still have no idea.
