Bama Game Thread: Official PostGame Thread - Bama vs. UMO...

I'm still convinced the Football Gods won't let me have 2 good football teams to root for. And since the Commanders are finally good, or at least trending the right way, Alabama is now going the opposite direction.

Time to choose the only one that really matters to you (and, more importantly, us).

I think so too.

His body language is so bad.

He’s almost always looking to keep the ball whether it’s the right read or not.

I’ve even been starting to think he slacks off at times to keep the score close so he gets to stay in the game and keep Ty on the sideline.

Though he doesn’t have to because this staff won’t put Ty in until the most garbage of garbage time to just hand it off.

I also think Lank is less motivated because he knows he’s been eliminated from the Heisman conversation.

I’ve never been more ready for a player to move on to his next chapter in life.

I’m just so done with all of it.

I don’t think this is true, I just think he isn’t very good at some fundamental QB things and it causes the offense to sputter for large parts of the game, if not the whole game. I do agree with JD that he is a selfish player. He thinks he is better than he is and calls his own number a lot of the time. I don’t buy the “humble team leader,” “I don’t pay attention to any media” act. Actions speak louder than words.

IMO, he is just getting Milroe and the entire offense more reps. Milroe is the starter, and he is struggling, so get him more work.

We just have to ride this out and see where it takes us.
Yea but needing to get a 2nd year starter more work 8 games into the season is brutal. I kinda expected yesterday and I’m happy for the win. Really proud of the defense and the goal line stand to secure the shutout was awesome.
I told my brother before the game I fully expect Jalen to come out and have a good enough game to shut everybody up but the underlying problems would still be there. It’s the boom or bust effect. Our offense looks good against inferior opponents and Georgia.

IMO Ty should have been given at least 2 legitimate opportunities to run the offense at the end of the game yesterday. There will be no safer opportunity to give him reps than up 27 points against a hapless team. The fact that we didn’t tells me that we have decided he will never get that opportunity against a quality opponent. I don’t know if that is a CKD philosophy or a decision on the current roster, but the message is loud and clear. The backup QB will not get meaningful game reps this season.

It was a good win.

But it was 6-0 with just few a few minutes left in the first half. If we are taking any comfort in 34-0, what's the reason for 6-0 at that point? The first half reminded me way too much of the 1st half of the UT game.

Couldn't convert a 3rd down for the life of us. I think it was the 4th quarter until we did. We are boom or bust.

Remember when we used to be leading 34-0 at the half against a team as bad as Mizzu?

This is my concern going into LSU in two weeks. If this offense gets off to a slow start, a bunch of “three and outs”’or stalled drives leading to FG attempts, even as bad as Nussmier looked last night turning the ball over, we could have a significant hole to dig out of early in the game.

This offense must sustain drives and give our defense a break.

It seems like the offense is predicated on threading a needle, either it is clicking perfectly, like against Wisconsin and the 1st half of the UGA game, or we can't do anything. Our third down conversion rate is horrendous, but it also seems like we are rarely in third and 3 or less situations. First and second downs are boom or bust for us.

My record stands triumphant - over all the decades I've gone to game I've still never attended a game at BDS where Bama lost.

You're welcome. :ROFLMAO:

I do accept free tickets if you wish to utilize my obvious mojo...

Having my tenure as a student at UA coincide exactly with Shula’s tenure - as well as having attended a number of Dubose-era games prior to that - I’ve witnessed enough in-person losses to cover the whole board. I think it’s something like 17.

I’ll do my part and stay away from BDS, although I will attend Mercer this year. I am still over .500 overall 😂

I feel ya brother. Although not at BDS, the worst one was the Music City Bowl against Va Tech in the rain, sleet and snow.

My only two in person losses under Saban were 2007 La Monroe. That was brutal. And 2012 Johnny Football. At least the second was an exciting game.

I went to a lot of games under Stallings, Dubose, Fran, and Shula. I haven't been in a long time. Last one I remember was the Sugar Bowl loss to Utah.

I remember sitting behind the flag pole vs UCLA and losing.

I remember the UCF game where McClintock pinned their player on a kick off and punched him. And Dubose apologizing as I'm walking down the ramp.

Been to Baton Rouge under Stallings...nose bleed section. We won.

I appreciate the fact we won the way we did….great defense and getting back to running the ball with Jam and Justice.

Lank on the other hand? I’m done with him. I hope he does well ONLY for the sake of the TEAM.

I haven't been to a live game in over 20 years, but can almost count on one hand the losses I've witnessed

1978 v USC
1980 v Notre Dame
1982 Cotton Bowl v Texas
1982 v LSU
1984 v LSU
2002 v Auburn

The 3 home games we lost when I was at Bama I didn't attend (Missouri, Ole Miss, Georgia)

I want to go back to my point On Jalen. I've been saying for a while that he's not healthy. He was favoring his leg again yesterday. Bye week rest should help lot of players.
