It already is impacting the alternatives available to the Federal Reserve and to Congress. Short term rates can be lowered but long term rates like mortgages will remain high. That obviously limits the Feds ability to impact the economy. Congress and the Fed can print more money but the result is higher interest rates and increased cost to service the debt. It can only get worse from here.
The question becomes: Is US consumption important enough for Saudi Arabian and Chinese growth to fund our debt.
I obviously don't see anyone in government capable of understanding the issues at hand and developing a long term plan to guide the country out if it. The bond market appears to sending a message to force a plan to address it.
All that Trump and Musk have talked about doing would place the country into a severe recession in a short time.

CA and I don't always agree on things but his opinion more times than not has been well thought out and doesn't come from an article that's entire goal is to create a stir and create emotion. I hope all of us, me included, can get our feet out of the mud and stop this lunacy of hunkering down and falling deeper and deeper in whatever pigsty we have found ourselves in. Eventually you are going to dig down so deep your head is going to go under. Some of us are already there. The root cause of this is you have allowed hatred to take over your heart. When that happens you have quit looking for solutions and your only goal is to be right, even if it means it hurts or kills others. As you stated, the Constitution doesn't specifically address abortion. It would be impossible to list every possible action in a document without 18.9 million amendments, as opposed to twenty-seven. Therefore, the federal government does not enforce laws or rules over this action and relegates it to the states via its peoples votes.
Last I checked, Catholicism doesn't worship state's rights...
Still amazed that a man too cowardly to debate his opponents, convicted of multiple felonies, who mocked both the disabled and POWs... still gets such blind obedience.
I haven't had Taco Bell in 8 years and I know that for a fact because I will never forget that day. My youngest daughter had fractured her arm on the playground and we were just finishing up at the doctor's office when I asked her if she wanted Taco Bell (her favorite place.) To state the obvious, she had had a very crappy day and I wanted to cheer her up. Little did I know just how crappy things were about to get.
She enthusiastically said yes and her little face brightened right up. So we get there and she enjoyed her meal. I don't remember what I had, but I know it had ground beef in it.....or ground something. Anyway, we finish up and chatted a bit while finishing our sodas and we finally left. We got about five minutes down the street when the rumblings started. I dismissed this as intestines just doing intestinal things, but about 5 minutes after that, it was more than a rumble.
There was no pain at first, but out of nowhere a tide of evil was rushing through me with frightening speed. I barely slammed the hatch in time as everything clinched in outraged horror. That's when the sharp pain hit and I knew I was in trouble. I couldn't stop anywhere because I'm not taking my daughter into the men's room and I'm sure not leaving her in a parked car alone. So I accepted the fact that it was time to white-knuckle this and get home as fast as possible.
Ordinarily, this would have been about another ten minutes of drive time, but as luck would have it, I was also behind a school bus that was stopping every other block. I was cursing and nearly crying. The pain was immense and every time we stopped again, I was throwing my hands in the air like a mad conductor and spitting obscenities. Now my daughter is crying again. Great, just great.
Finally, I turn on to our street which has speed bumps which, at the time, I cared not a whit for. I also punched the accelerator and if I ruin my suspension system, oh well. Problem is, I hit the first bump so hard, I nearly threw us both around the car. And sure enough.....*squirt*. Welp, that's the end of those underwears, but dear lord, these are Levi's. Please save the Levi's.
FINALLY, we pull into the driveway and I jump out of the car. *squirt* Dammit! I know I can't run, but my pace was not casual. I was holding my cheeks together with both hands and breathing like I'm about to give birth. I burst into the living room bathroom like the Kool-Aid man and promptly dropped trou. Sigh.....the relief was indescribable.
So if you ever see me in a Taco Bell, just know that I've been kidnapped and I'm signaling for help. Otherwise, I will never step foot into one of those places again. And apparently I'm not alone as others have come forward to share their ordeal. As far as I'm concerned, TB is a scourge on humankind.

It's been explained numerous times why he won. The writing is on the wall but many of you don't want to read it because you would have to take off your Super Dee-Duper Democrat glasses. Instead of understanding why more than half of America voted for him and why he won the electoral and popular vote, you choose to use superfluous terms ad nauseum (ie felon, etc, etc.).
You really shouldn't get that worked up about money. Just let it bounce like the rest of us do and ask for forgiveness from the Piggly Wiggly
The fact Harris lost to Trump and Trump won another election are both embarrassing. But Harris losing to Trump is the most embarrassing. Something was catastrophically wrong with her campaign not only to lose to Trump but lose to him by the votes she did.
The party liners were going to vote GOP and DNC whether it was Trump or Harris or Winnie the Pooh and Goofy. But it's those who voted for Biden in the last election who decided to jump Harris' ship and vote Trump. Somebody within the DNC has to ask "What the hell did we miss and how the hell did we swing and miss that big?". Somebody's got to ask it to ensure it doesn't happen again in 2028.
I think it was more embarrassing that Harris was the "unelected" or "appointed" candidate than actually losing to Trump.
It probably didn't help that Biden was snatched off the ticket during the 4th quarter of the ball game. Not only that, he did so reluctantly and anyone who could read between the lines could not so subtly tell he did not appreciate it.
Just proves that people don't care who they vote for as long as the promise of cheap eggs and gas are on the agenda. Regardless of how much the President can do to affect either.
Still: convicted felon, serial rapist/sex offender. Folks can dance around that all day long, but the fact remains that the country is OK with it. The stupid prevails.
A.) If we pulled back the layers of the onion, you would vomit if you knew what skeletons Joe Biden had hanging around, WHO YOU VOTED FOR, and you are a self proclaimed genius.
B.) Calling over half of the voters in America "stupid" might make you feel better and righteous, but other than that, it does nothing. Doesn't make you sound smart. Doesn't make you change anyone's mind. Doesn't fix any issues.
C.) The Democrats have been feasting off of the "uneducated" vote for decades. Pandering to people who vote only because they feel they will continue to get their food stamps and welfare check if their candidate wins.
She promised the same thing, I saw it on her commercials. She (in her commercials) promised to lower prices at the grocery store, gas and taxes for the middle class.
God forbid someone vote for their own self-interest. All of a sudden it is a sin if we aren't voting only for ideology and hypotheticals.
