LANK/NIL...

One of the things I find most annoying about all this, is that Milroe signed huge NILdeals a few days before his 2 worst games of the season. He signed the deal with the trading card company a few days before the UTe game, and signed a deal with Armani before the OU game. I don't recall hearing about any NIL deals before any of the other games, so I'm not sure this is a coincidence. Milroe was focused on other things while we' were trying to win championships.

bench the entire LANK crowd and/or dismiss them from the team. Would have meant the 23 season likely could have been not great, but Saban might still be around along with a LOT of the guys we lost in the portal and could have used the portal to replen the LANKsters in the offseason

'Yeah, that would have been even more controversial.

Fans would have been wanting to know what's going on and Naysayers would have been pointing out that Bama is NOT NIL friendly...

That's a Lose-Lose situation there.

With regard to the source of LANK funds, outside of my wife buying a shirt, I have never seen anything with the word on it except when it is one of the players involved. I find it difficult to think that there is much of a revenue stream from the merch.
That might true if customers were only consumers wearing the shirts, having this arrangement in place, someone could buy a thousand shirts to provide funding to players - like bestseller books that get artificial sales to pump the numbers

Could be, but I think OU had our number.

They were really well prepared for everything we do in all phases of the game, and our game plan and execution were awful.

We’re lucky it was not like 35-3, because they shot themselves in the foot a few times in scoring position.

I am truly in disbelief at how horrendous we were on Saturday.

There isn’t one single positive I can come away with.

Our offense is pretty easy to defend if the other team's personnel is halfway decent. We don't have but 3 plays Milroe can effectively run. Handoff, fake the handoff, and run it himself or throw deep. OU had those 3 plays figured out with no issues. All other plays we tried to run turned into negative plays or turnovers.

I'm not suggesting that had anything to do with his performance. We know his track record against good defenses isn't very good. However, if he is supposedly the team leader, and he's not focused, then it's going to rub off.

But yeah you're right, you do gotta give Oklahoma a lot of credit too. The blueprint has been out there to completely eliminate him from the game, but only a small handful of teams have been able to do it to that degree

It could just as easily be 24-14, as it could be 35-3. Then it just comes down to the two INTs. You take those away, and it's a completely different game, and then who knows what would have happened. It'll be okay. DeBoer is the same coach now as he was last week when the people who want him fired now were ready to build the statue. He'll get it figured out.
