Is there a scenario where we still back into the playoffs?

My overall take is that the SEC is down. i dont think the SEC will have a team make the NC game much less win it. I dont think the SEC should get 4 bids either.
Texas and UGA will both be in for sure.

Tenn will be in if they beat Vandy today.

I think USCe will get in if they beat Clemson and if not OM might get in.

Texas is the only one I think can make the NCG just purely on Offense.

UGA or Tenn might could get into the Semis but it would depend on the draw and matchups.

But ultimately I agree there is no Elite SEC team and I'm not sure there is an Elite team in CFB period but somebody is going to get lucky and win the NC.

No we don’t deserve it. But I can’t get this push for South Carolina over both Alabama and Ole Miss, both of whom they lost to.

College football, with its corrupt refs, stupid OT rules, NIL/portal insanity, and now this ridiculous playoff, has totally jumped the shark.
before the oklahoma loss there were people that had us going in over tennessee

I don't understand why Joe Testitore kept saying if the Dawgs won last night they were in "no matter what."

If they lose in the SECCG, they'll have three losses, too, and one was to us. That doesn't make sense to me!

Well they are in the Top 6-7 and don’t have any embarrassing losses.

If they got blown out badly by Texas they’d probably be sweating the selection but as long as they keep it respectable they are pretty safe.

I see your point. Georgia doesn’t impress me. They actually remind me a lot of this Bama team… only we beat them head to head. If they lose the SECCG, they are no better than us. 4 and 5 stars all over the place, with 3 losses to show for it. Except… we beat them head to head…. I think it is very difficult to justify the inclusion of any 3 loss team because we are used to viewing post season through the lense of 3 losses and your toast (sometimes even 2). But this is what everyone was flapping their wings to get… a more inclusive playoff picture. Now, we are the ones looking in the window from the outside. If there is any possible way to get in- I want it. Don’t care who the QB is (would prefer one that is not making “business decisions”), don’t care what the talking heads, people on X, or anybody else thinks about it. If they don’t like it, they shouldn’t have flapped their wings to get it. I cannot imagine a scenario where I would not want Bama to be in the playoffs. Does not exist in my mind. But that is just my humble, and somewhat selfish, opinion. Just to be honest, the contrarian in me is wanting to get in just to put a turd in the punch bowl for everyone else.

If we beat Auburn they would get in over us?

Again, what would we benefit by being in the playoffs when we all know the outcome? The switch is not magically cutting on and we become world beaters overnight. It’s over, salvage what you can and aim for a 10-3 season

Apparently it really hurt a lot of feelings that Georgia was “penalized” for losing the SEC championship game last year.

Before Oklahoma we thought we had a team that maybe had matured. Right now I don’t even like our chances going up to Happy Valley and pulling out a win.

If we get in… I’ll cheer for us, but I’ll do it knowing full well this team has no business being in and whatever we win should have an * beside it noting “only because other teams choked in a 12 playoff setting on the last weekend”

Im just wanting this season to be done with and to find out where this program is moving. The best realistic scenario is to beat Auburn and get put in an Orlando or Nashville bowl. Because right now it’s more important as a program to see who is committed to the program and what moves we can make before others do. I think the chances of winning a national championship as a potential 11 or 12 seed is too astronomical to think it’s really worth it. Yeah I get it… “ a Chip a chair” but what from this team has anyone convinced that they will use that Chip wisely? 2011 and 2017 were teams that were hurt by one off game and everyone knew if they got a chance they would be hell to deal with. This team…. If they don’t score in the 1st quarter then they are likely to just take a bad loss and not think twice about it.

The truth is we don’t deserve to be in after the debacle in Norman. The fact that we are in the conversation is just a sign that there are too many spots in the playoffs

Never agreed with you more.... every syllable and especially the bolded.

I know most of us are "too full of Bama" as fans and never want to give up hope but this team has NO CHANCE to do anything in the Playoffs going on the Road to face a Top 5-6 Seeded team.

Getting in would do us more harm than good.

It's time to remove the malignant tumors on this team and start finding out what we have going forward and get a jump on getting them ready for 2025.

Not in my opinion. It is proof that adding more teams did exactly what it was hoped to do. This weekend has far more meaningful games than ever before in the history of the game.

The fear of being embarrassed in the CFP comes from a place that has fans more worried about losing that excited about winning.

IMO, Alabama fans need to figure out how to enjoy the game again.

When Alabama players start to enjoy playing at Alabama again then maybe more will enjoy watching them again. I can take a bad football team and a mediocre year but what I can’t take is a total lack of effort and total lack of care. Give me a guy who hates losing more than he loves winning. I can get totally behind that guy when he comes up short, but what I saw last week is just not Bama.

I'll be back to enjoying it when guys earn their spots fair and square and we have positive team chemistry and real leadership and everyone playing with the right attitudes and correct fundamentals and are prepared properly.

I know you are probably just trying to be positive and I dunno... cheer us up...

But I mean how excited would you be today vs Mich if you had already lost to Northwestern in addition to Oregon and just last week you got Skull Dragged at Rutgers effectively knocking you out and it was because the Buckeyes looked like they didn't care and your QB could not complete a forward pass or make an effort to stop a pick 6?

You'd probably be a bit bummed out.
