He just wanted out of Tuscaloosa. He lost trust in the staff.
I won't root against Law, unless his success is hurting Bama.

But what I don't understand is this: if KLaw was really a sleeping giant we couldn't wake up in our offense that is truly comparable to Debo Samuel, why in the world when he went into the portal didn't the best offensive teams all over the country start bidding on him?

When I heard he was transferring to KY I made a strange face and scratched my head.

Promises of things to come. In addition to Law, KY picked up:

A 3700 yard passing QB (3744, 35TD, 9int, 332 Rush, 5 TD)
One of Nebraskas top RBs
A 6'4" receiver from Oklahoma, and
A 6'6" TE

Dunno 'bout promises of things to come and UK - that would span from Coach Bryant through Charley Bradshaw through Fran Curci through the soundalike defector from 'Bama (for which we were all very thankful in the end) - but if 'Bama could get Art Still in the transfer portal in return for Law with another year of eligibility at age 69, it would be an equitable arrangement.

Malik Benson is portaling out of Florida St. He didn't do all that great at Bama.

He was out of eligibility until this-

.
The NCAA Division I Board of Directors on Monday approved a blanket waiver granting an additional year of eligibility to former junior college transfers in similar positions to Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia, opening the door for a wave of college athletes across all sports to spend one more year in college athletics.

According to an NCAA memo, the waiver extends an extra year of eligibility in 2025-26 to athletes who previously "competed at a non-NCAA school for one or more years" and otherwise would have exhausted their NCAA eligibility following the 2024-25 season.

The next step may be larger schools setting up a farm team at a smaller school. Coaches could run the same offense and defense; top performing players would be ready to plug in and play.
Reminds me of MLB in 50-60s with Kansas City As being almost farm team of NY Yankees.

So the NCAA is appealing their own waiver? I'm a bit confused on this one, but I guess that's normal for NCAA stuff these days.
I think the NCAA realizes that the organization will face numerous appeals of eligibility from players in multiple sports in the coming weeks. Notice the waiver is only for 2025/26.

They probably know their appeal will not be heard/ adjudicated for months. What they are saying is pretty much like Covid wavier of 2020 “okay just this once ya’ll get a wavier, but we are appealing this to prevent any future waviers”.
