So this is your latest gripe with CKD since all your others have turned out to be incorrect?
That he's hired too many people he had previous relations with?

You mean the thing I said when he hired his staff the first time? I'll reiterate what I said then, you tell me what are the odds he just happened to previously work with both one of the best offensive coordinators and best defensive coordinators in all of college football? Seems unlikely doesn't it?

And I've said all along I wish I was wrong about my misgivings about DeBoer, but the reality is he's 21-10 without Penix in the FBS, and that was the underlying aspect of all my concerns. What is he without Penix? Without all those six year seniors? Without winning all those one score games (2-3 this past season)? So far, not that great.

I think he has the potential to turn things around, but I don't think the answer is to just hire his friends. It at least gives the appearance of cronyism. There is such a thing as being too loyal.

Edit: Just to be clear my line in the sand is whether or not Sheridan retains sole play calling duties. He was a plan B hire, DeBoer's friend, fine great what ever. But if no changes are made to address that, no, I'm not happy with a OC that managed 17 PPG at his last stop.

I have no clue who this guy is or if he is culpable for poor play....but I will say that turning over coaches every year does not lead to consistency of play...hopefully we settle into a coaching staff and allow them more than one season to implement their philosophy.

Well, Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. just posted that his coach was fired and said "thank you lord". I think that about sums it up.
So my question: are we sending Hitchsler packing because we needed to make room for Morrell on field, or he didn’t get the job done, or the players didn’t like him or a combination of all three?

Wow didn’t really have an issue with the secondary this year. With all the losses, and injuries, I thought they over-performed.

All the issues are on the offensive side. This reeks of a “buddy buddy” move..
That should tell you there is probably more to this move than on field stuff. I'm sure we will hear it eventually.

Morell, by all accounts, has also been coaching our linebackers since the vandy game.

Coach Saban put his first staff together quickly and some of them didn't work out. (Applewhite for example.) CKD had to assemble his staff quickly because of the recruiting window.

If you are rushed, you tend to go with what you are comfortable with and then make adjustments later.

Good grief! Give CKD a chance...

BTW, it sounds like Hitschler really wasn't a good fit for the players and staff.

You for the last 6-7 years praised and wanted Dabo yet he has been the only big fish in a Mickey Mouse conference, His championship run is in a 5 year period where he had 2 generational talented quarterbacks, and he consistently loses to teams he has no business losing to. That 2016 team lost to Pittsburgh at home with Deshaun Watson and gave up 40 something points. Dabo also largely has kept the same staff in place too. Yet you are relentlessly pushing these same talking points as damning evidence that DeBoer isn’t the guy but conveniently omit them when propping up Dabo as a good candidate for it. I mean seriously… what has Dabo done since getting spanked by Ryan Day in New Orleans?

I mean your first major talking point was DeBoer is a lazy recruiter… well I guess #2 in the country behind Texas is pretty good for a lazy recruiter. But a Tiger doesn’t change its stripes I guess…

I've been waiting for changes on the offensive side, specifically to replace a buddy of his. That's why I was fairly apoplectic to hear it was a defensive change and in fact another buddy coming onto the staff (already too much cronyism).

If he makes the change, like Saban did after the first season my concerns will be assuaged but jut not the first change I was expecting/hoping that's for sure.

There's more out there than only Grubb.
Grubb doesn't want to be here.

He interviewed w/ CNS basically for Interview practice and then only showed up last year because he was biding his time until either the Wash HC job was offered to him or the Seattle Seahawks OC gig.

He and his family are Pacific NW folks and that's just how it is.

I hate dark skies and rainy weather so I wouldn't want to live there either...lol

If he was already coaching linebackers that means the linebacker coach is switching chairs or packing boxes as well.
That was kane (who is now just dc). I think shuffling was needed for whatever wasn't being done.

Linguist is now the DB coach not just corners.

We will likley hear everything come out ove the next few weeks. Worth noting the misses at safety in recruiting were, let's say, notable.

Could have just been a bad fit, orwho knows at this point.

Well clearly having someone on the staff that wasn't a friend was an issue...

I'm not against making changes, but some of the problems are his friends on the staff.
with all firings and all this staff is gonna cost as much as Jimbo at end of third year
