CNS wasn’t typically one to tell the media or fans what they wanted to hear. He more often than not used the PC’s to send messages to those within the team and staff.
Right of course.

I meant that CNS had a clear message most of the time.

Sometimes you had to read between the lines a bit and sometimes it was blunt.

But you understood what he was trying to do or get across.

You get absolutely nothing of note from CKD.

You might as well have a AI android in front of the Mic that’s spitting out ChatGpt text to speech.

I remember when we had to figure out Nick Saban and learn to read between his lines. I learned to listen to the Thursday radio show to know how the team prepped during the week and understand what was coming in the game on Saturday.

True.

I guess we forget at times we spent 17 years becoming fluent in Sabanese… lol

PCs are historically generally meaningless. We've grown accustomed to Saban using them as a tool, but not everyone works that way. I couldn't care less if CKD just coach-speaks his way through the PC if he communicates to the team differently.

Red cars, blue cars.

I think I’m just having a tough time with the culture change.

I’m just so accustomed to CNS’s way and my personal preference for a HC is a tough coach like CNS who runs such a tight ship.

I’m a very detailed oriented person like CNS and a bit OCD so I just really ‘get’ him so to speak and it’s just a tough transition to this new laid back style.

I’ll get there eventually hopefully…lol

I don't really care other than the gaslighting. Don't tell me that the team had great practices all week after a horrible game. Don't tell me that you kept Milroe in the game because you still saw the fire in his eyes. Just stop with that stuff and I will feel a lot better.

I want to hear what's going to be done to address issues, not just 'we didn't execute and we gotta get better' I have no RIGHT to anything in particular, but the perception of the coaching is affected by this kind of stuff.

In this vein, it is always amusing to me to hear reporters ask a coach coming off the sideline at halftime a question, and they never ever address the question. They want to be polite and make an appearance, but their mind is on other things and they don't even seem to hear the question.

"Coach, what did you say to the players after a tough first half to go out and get a score on that last possession before halftime?"

"Turnovers. Gotta stop the turnovers and come out in the second half, play our game, and find a way to win"

"Thanks, coach"

For me post game pressers are not about details as it is about overall perception. And, for me, the press conference after the Oklahoma game was when I really started having concerns. My overall viewpoint was CKD was completely and utterly dumbfounded by what he had just witnessed. He had no other explanation than to roll with the coach speak crap.
Honestly, I would have been much more comforted by hearing him say “this isn’t Alabama football. This isn’t acceptable to me or anyone associated with this program. No disrespect to Oklahoma. They deserved to win. However, the buck stops here…with me.”

Yeah, I'd rather not have that either..............Coach Bryant was one for plain talk, and at times Saban was as well. Just tell it like it is and no sugar coating..........then roll up your sleeves and fix it
